Abreham Cherkos Feleke (born 28 Oct 1989)
was supposed to be the next Kenenisa Bekele. He erupted onto the scene at age 16 and posted times which still have him in the top 5 World Junior List; however, he won Jr medals but didn't get much faster.
Age 16:
2 miles.........8:16.07 20 Jun 2006
3000m...........7:32.37 11 Jul 2006
5000m..........12:54.19 14 Jul 2006
In Amsterdam Marathon today he debut placing 4th at age 20
Amsterdam Marathon results Sun 17 Oct 2010
1.) Getu Feleke 2:05:44 (Eth) PB, CR
2.) Wilson Chebet (Ken) 2:06:12 debut
3.) Chala Dechase (Eth) 2:07:22
4.) Abreham Cherokos Feleke (Eth) 2:07:29 debut
even more impressive debut by Wilson Chebet but why would Cherkos move up when he had such promise at 3000m-5000m?
