OSU went 1,2,3 & 4. Very impressive package...but there was a little bit of space in this package since it sems Girma was up front alone and then got sick and walked before coming back up.
Stanford: 1,2 & 3 - a real tight package. 3 looked to have worked harder than 1 & 2, but they still packed it up pretty well all race.
Oregon - seems like a good 1,2, 3 package until, on inspection of the video, one notes that Mercado busted his ass and finished with a mad dash followd by a primal scream in order to get close to Centro and Puskedra who were truly packing it up on their own at the front. So, Oregon's package is really more a 1,2 package than a 1,2 &3. It's a helluva nice 1,2 package though.
Wisconsin went 4,5,6 & 7. Not as impressive as 1,2,3 & 4, but still a nice package - until you watch the video and see that is was more like two separate packages...and the packaging did not look as controlled as the packaging with Stanford, for instance.
Conclusion: OSU's 1,2,3 & 4 package trumps Stanfords 1,2&3 package. Oregon could yet up their packing, but I'm not seeing it - just based on the bodylanguage of their 3,4,5 & 6 today (Dellinger video).
Questions: Will OSU be able to add a 5th to their already outstanding package? Or will they be able to get a 5th man close enough to their 1,2,3 & 4 package? Will Stanford have a 2nd pack that holds together by Nats (according to Dunn in his post race interview their was supposed to be a 2nd pack of 4 today, but their packaging came somewhat undone it seems)? Will Stanford's 1st pack hold together at Nats, or will Derrick say, "F this!" and go chase Sammy and McNeill and whoever else is up front.
Will new and impressive packages emerge? Iona? Portland?
