Wow! You mean he might actually be GAY? Oh no, the travesty! What could be worse?
I really can't think of much worse than man on man sex.
jeez.. only a complete b0ner would write something like this. do you get out much? welcome to 2010.
Well actually... wrote:

Why can't he just be a traditionalist? Nothing wrong with that.
I wish I could have the last 30 seconds of my life back.
what shoes is he wearing? they look pretty comfy, and pretty pimp.
Going by the sole patter I think they are Nike Free.
They looked like Frees. Which aren't much different from boat shoes.
Hydroworx underwater treadmills are a great training tool. Started using one in 1987 in PA. Best post injury tread on the market. Hydroworx to AlterG to Woodway to Ground based would be my choice today in the path to health and return from injury. Or if you just want a different training stimulus or recovery workout.
Big mill hits almost 9 mph, can change the bodies immersion level in water quickly thus reducing forces on lower body. So easy to stay within pain threshold during injury rehab and it is fun as a coach to change the, treadmill speed, water level and jets to see how it is affecting the runner physiology. Don't underestimate the physiological effects of the density difference between running in water and air.
Few runners understand the physiology of vertical immersion in water vs horizontal. If you want to increase stroke volume -- find water. Think low pressure system in pressure gradient system thus greater fluid flow to right side of heart and need to move fluid thru left side because right side is loading. So easy in water and only possible in water. We run mile after mile -- hour after hour to achieve this - enhanced stroke volume.
So those pool workouts actually are very good for you - that is not including the low pressure superficial lymphatic system and removal of waste products. The one rule I have always had for my athletes since the late 70's - after land based - then water. Dick Brown had that part right. Choose water whenever you need to. Won't hurt you!
You can significantly help mold mechanics as well as the body migrates toward most mechanically efficient movement path thru more dense material - water.
shut up
Too advanced for you?
Ken Bob: What's your problem?
Thanks RHuntington for your comments, found them ineteresting.
I was wondering which would be better, AlterG or underwater running like this. Seems simpler to me [and addresses the issues with sweat and all nicely, no small issue for some of us].
I have done pool running on pool surfaces (sprint like) in college and deep water running (treading water like mostly) and haven't always found it satisfying. This looks interesting and the drag on the legs seems like it would be very good for providing resistance training.
Realized I put in 1987 instead of 1997. Kenbob, sorry that info is offensive enough to have you say shut up! Just trying to pass on my experiences with the same product and how advantageous it is to use. You can always choose to not read it!
That is a great question in todays AlterG media blast. You can lessen foot contact forces on/in both. Hydroworx gives physiological advantage with enhanced stroke volume potential. AlterG is cheaper! Can run faster on alterG so depending on your needs - injury or training you would choose the better tool.
As I mentioned. If I had to rehab a lower extremity injured athlete today and i had the resources Alberto does I would go hydroworx deep water or pool, hydroworx treadmill with suspension thru bouyancy change (can be bouyancy device or raising/lowering of treadmill on 2000 unit) alterG, Woodway, ground based, track. Deep water running for recovery or as alternative to a run is just fine and almost a prerequisite for women that are upping their mileage. Along the way of course you would have the resistance training aspect to help you prepare for ground based activities.
These are great tools that we have to use today. Glad to see Alan taking advantage of them.
Didn't realize that AlterG would be cheaper, but makes sense. Guess you wouldn't just stick any treadmill in the swimming pool (or you might want someone else from AlSal's stable try it first befor Webb! ;-) )
Thanks again for your comments, it is very interesting.
It seems like a much better tool than the poor man's version I have used (AquaVest).
