What an awesome season.

Interesting Kenyan tactics - wall of 3 men at the front, kept it all slow, and nobody was willing to go out into lane 3 and pass them. Good work by Nick Willis. Great shame Andy Baddeley didn't get into a decent position earlier, he was finishing like a train.
Who cares! There are no Americans at Commonwealth.

Like it or not, there's no other track action to pontificate about this week...
I am curious about the athlete from Sri Lanka.
He performed rather well? Is anyone aware of his past performances?
I just wanted to say that the Indians have been doing really well too.
Their woman in the 800 led for the first 700m of the race, paid the price and died horribly; but she's young and will learn and go a lot faster than her current 1:59 PB. Their 4x100 mens' team was third in a very close race - 38.89, to England's 38.74. Remember that Delhi is far from ideal running conditions.
Hopefully the Games will move sport slightly higher up the priority list for a lot more Indian families and lead to sustained growth in sport. With a billion people, there has to be some great talent waiting to come out.
The lad from Cardiff is also a letrun poster. Well done James Thie.
Baddeley and Lacashire ran another shit race tactically.

The term "Indians" is offensive. Please refer to them as Native Southwest Asians. Thank you.
why don't americans get to go to the commonwealth games?
a) because alan webb would have owned up that race

Agree totally. I would expect guys of that calibre to at least try SOMETHING. I don't have splits to hand but am pretty sure it was outside 60 pace for 1000m, yet nobody tried anything. All my instincts would have been screaming at me to get into a good position on the back stretch on lap 3, maybe push the Kenyans to pick it up a little and string out.
I wouldn't particularly praise Nick Willis to the heavens either; he was on the inside leading the non-Kenyan pack and was lucky to find some daylight in the home straight.
The BBC showed a classic highlight clip just before the race - Filbert Bayi taking it out hard, Walker chasing him home and not quite getting there, Bayi breaking a world record. Ah, those were the days - men were men and sheep were nervous (at least in NZ...).
No I shall not. There is a country named India in that part of the world and fellows from that country are called Indians. Now shove off.Take your mindless blabber about PC and shove off. Your intellectual lot, evolution willing, will be struggling to crack coconuts open in a few thousand years if not sooner. I would prefer the latter.

Sarcasm sensors failing...
Realization of across-the-globe trolling fail.

Someone who is NOT an ethno-centric ass and appreciates a track meet for the sake of the races, regardless of colour or nationality (i.e a real track fan).
Pretty sure Nick Willis has been known to post here from time to time.
Are you seriously asking why Americans can't go to the commonwealth games.
The commonwealth games is for athletes from the commonwealth of nations and the USA is not one of those nations.
Here is a link for anyone wanting to read up on it:

I think this might be keeping the US out:

I don't understand your argument...Maybe you didn't notice but Americans DO run the Commonwealth games. Or do you mean none made the final in the 1500?
what americans do you reference? and fyi, ranking is racing for a commonwealth island, NOT the usa.
