rabbits take them through in 63, which is what Eyestone said they were asked to do. So the rabbits are doing their job. We should start seeing some surging now! |

they'll be coming out into the sun very soon as well. announcer said it was 65 in the shade and the shade is gone within the next mile. |

Halfway was 1:02:35, not 1:03. They said before the race that the target was 1:02:30. Should get good. |

Are you kidding me? Do we really need to hear about every building and neighborhood on the course? Why is TV marathon coverage soooo bad.. |

| chicago accent = disgusting |

who the hell was that guy they interviewed in front of st pat's church? he said the real race begins at 13.2 miles. most elites in the hunt would say it begins at 25-30k. the chicago accent is fvcking NAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSTY. id rather listen to some uneducated ghetto bostonian or brooklynite than any native chicagoan. |

Women are cranking it down slightly. On track now for 2:19:23. No Ethiopian or Russian woman has gone sub-2:20. |

99% of the coverage is talking about how great Chicago is - great food, great culture, great neighbourhoods, great people, great everything.....just follow the damn race! |
| eat that |

Did anyone else find it inexplicably hilarious when the announcer said "the women are looking Fabulous!" |

Ethiopian and Russian records Ethiopia: 2:20:42 Berhane Adere Chicago 22.10.2006 Russia: 2:20:47 Galina Bogomalova Chicago 22.10.2006 Intrestingly these came in the same race, places 1 and 2. |

2:05:10 pace through 13.1 for the men. kebede looks the strongest, occasionally going to the front of the pacing pack which is now 2 men. wow, women's race is interesting. 1:09:45 at halfway for... ethiopians daska and bayisa. Huge favorite Shobukhova is 100m back at this point. women's pace actually slowed slightly between 15k and 20k (16:42) looks like 2 interesting races at this point |

That I did. I did. The announcers are enthusiastic and that's as charitable as I can be. What's the the blond reporter in the black shorts with the 3 1/2" inseam? |

This is gonna be a GREAT men's race. I'm not letting the announcers ruin it, ha! |

seems like the coverage was better in previous years. I think Reavis in the booth and eyestone on the course is a better combo. |
