I recently read a small part from one of Seb coe's book( forgot the title, seemed like the kind of books catered for running for fitness).
In it he describes his training lifestyle. He stays away from any fluid before and during his runs, reason being he couldn't stand the feeling of fluids in his stomach while he ran and he gets the worst stomach cramps ever. To the point he does not drink at least 4 and a half hours before any runs. He even jokes that he would never take part in a marathon due to this reason.
Which brings me to the point, if Seb coe doesn't drink during runs, he sure as hell ain't doing long runs beyond 13 miles( my assumption). Doesn't this refute the Letsrun mantra that " Strength = speed"? I mean Seb Coe is one of the fastest 800/1500 guys in the history of running. Anyone has detailed workouts of his? Maybe he did triples to make up the mileage?
