My right leg hurts immediately above my ankle, like the lowest 3-4 inches of my shin. It hurts in the muscle/tendon part, like what flexes when you dorsiflex your toes. It's not shin splints. Whenever I move my toes up and down, that muscle where it hurts feels really creaky. Have you even taken a piece of felt and pulled it apart? That's what this muscle feels like – it's super gross feeling and it hurts. It's tender to the touch, and stretching the front of my leg (like pointing my toes downward) just makes it worse. Any idea what this is? And what I should do about it? stretch my calves? massage the place where it hurts? ice? heat? thanks! I want to do a long run tomorrow but I don't think I can unless I get this better asap.
