My kids are both sick with runny noses, sore throats and coughs.
I have a half marathon on Saturday and am just starting to get a sore throat.
Will being sick ruin my race, or will I be ok but just feel a bit rough?

come on. Some one must have experience with this. Tell me that it will all be ok....
Bump...
I would also like to find out if you can run 100% if you have something like a cold if your race is Saturday.
I have never been able to run at 100% during a race while sick, even if it's just a mild sore throat or congestion.
So do you have any tips of anything to do before the race that may help in any way
IN my experience, you get about one "good" effort with a moderate sickness, then it explodes into a really taxing illness after. So take it easy until the race--don't bother running, it won't do you any good. Run a few easy miles the day before; take care of yourself until then, and you might be able to hit 90 or 95% of what you would do fresh. Just be aware that you'll probably be pretty sick after.
