For the second year in a row, a competitor in a half-marathon race at the Oceanfront has died.
The 27-year-old man was from Virginia, but not from Hampton Roads, said Master Police Officer Adam Bernstein, a department spokesman. His name wasn’t released.
He began not feeling well near the end of the race, but completed it, Bernstein said. He reported to an on-site medical tent, then was transported to a hospital, where he died.
The man had no known health problems, Bernstein said.
