only 7th???
only 7th???
I might as well give a very brief recap of this event.
Gun goes off and Kiprop straight to the lead with Leo in 2nd.
42 for 300m, an honest 57.13.
Pace slows 2nd lap to 1:56.80 and at that point Amine Laalou came to the front and took the lead.
Everyone went around Kiprop and Manzano on the outside and Manzano was now back to 7th. Manzano then tried to get back outside and move up.
Kiprop stayed on the rail and was still boxed.
At the bell (2:42.19) Kiprop was only 6th. I don't care how good you are when you are that far off the pace boxed in a slow race you're in trouble.
Laalou and Mekonnen Gebremedhin of Ethiopia were going at it up front. Manzano was in full flight giving chase and Kiprop was even further back.
At 200m, you could tell Kiprop gave up. He wasn't going to win, so he figured what's the point. Not the same type of race, but Kiprop quit last year in the World's 800m semi:

Laalou and Gebremedhin battled for the win with Laalou (a finalist at 800m and 1500m last year) winning. Manzano was charging as usual but this time he had a more acceptable reason for being late (being boxed in). He was a comfortable 3rd. Kiprop still finished 5th.

Lol. You are crazy as hell. Black people are lazy and white people are slow and more lazy? Black people seems to win all the time. Is that lazy to you? You are not a real runner. Real runners don't write or let small things like race populated their brains.
