Good for him. Need some young blood in the sport.

This has to be the stupidest thing to ever be called "sport." I can't believe that we allow people to take up space at the olympics for this. I'd rather watch a potato sack race.

How fast can you run a mile? Trevor has walked 6:03 for the mile. Doubt you could break 10:00 walking.

That is sad that you know this.
And next up on the program, "Who can whisper the loudest?" followed by "Who can make the warmest iced tea?"
Mike, I met you in Boulder, you're very passionate about the sport, and I have total respect for race walkers BUT this LetsRUN. No race walking....
those cannot, diss it. i can't but i still respect it. 6:03 walking mile is pretty otherworldly.
So on LRC it's OK to discuss the Tour de France, the World Cup, MLB, the NFL, the NBA, college football and basketball, and a variety of other sports that have nothing to do with running. But if someone comes on here to give props to a racewalker, a track and field athlete, for an outstanding performance they get harassed and told to go elsewhere.
Trevor Barron just did something the vast majority of us could never hope to do. He deserves congratulations for achieving excellence, not abuse from a bunch of envious wannabes.
If you've made the mistake of coming on these boards Trevor, ignore these pinheads. You're kicking a**! Keep it up.
These guys are gonna screw up their hips walking that fast.

A racewalker is not a track and field "athlete." Nothing against Trevor. He may be a very fine young man. However, his "sport" of choice is silly. I really don't know if I could ever walk fast or not, but I know I never hope to do so.
Whatever, asshole. People in glass houses...
I agree Mike, aauugghh is an asshole.

oh hush up and go back to training to break 19 for 5km.
im not gonna lie walking as competition is kinda ridiculous but so is curling. i will give racewalking props though its way harder than running alot of skill involved, that 6:03 mile blows my mind, still its walking. idk i cant wrap my head around it
good for him
This kind of language is offensive.
