Vince coached me at SIU for the short time he was there (2 years I believe)....good guy and very knowledgable. A little on the lazy side but he gets it done. I hope he does well.
Talked to Vince the other day. He really likes the staff at KU. Vince is agreat recruiter, buy his a better coach than people give him credit for. I know alot of he talk trash on him. If everyone would speak that Vince has help for to school or he gave a chance to run and jump or gave opportunity to coach. When someone is looking for athlete from Missouri is the first teh call. When someone is talking trash about him knowone speaks up. I for a fact that he has help many Jamaica kids come to US. You may not know he the man behind Brittany Borman, Precouis Selmon, Alyssa Allison,Jasmine Boyer, Jill Rushin, etc whom all are running DI track and field.
ask anybody at missouri baptist...he was a liar. Would tell all the kids they get full scholarship and then wouldnt give it to them...they would have a balance and be stuck there...happened all the time with internationals. He single handedly got Lincoln put on probation. He did have good teams...but very shady i think

He has helped lots of internationals come to america and get and education but he also screwed several at mobap. He got canned from mobap after winning a national title. So he obviously was pissing off somebody. The rumor is that he was planning to move on as soon as possible so he told a bunch of lies to win that title then was going to look for something bigger. From what I have been told he was being considered (not offered any) by several D1's before he went to festus high school.
Vince is a Knowledgable coach and a good recruiter, but seems to put himself above the teams and athletes that he coaches. Maybe now that he is at a big time D1 that will change.
Vince helped me succeed in many ways. All he does is win. that is why people trash talk him. Envy, jealousy and lies.
Nobody is perfect, but Vince is a renowned Coach, has coached many Nationally successful stars and nobody can take that away from him. You go Vince. A good man always has haters.
