The Sports Authority had a killer deal on some running shoes on a clearance table yesterday, but the only ones left were women's and really small men's sizes. Do you think it would be OK to just buy a large women's shoe and run it that?

What's that saying, "if the shoe fits wear it"?
I've actually worn a pair of womens Axioms because I missed that shoe so damn much.
So yes it's fine as long as your prepared to get heckled by your team mates but girls will tell you they think your shoes are "cute".
as long as they're red and clicking brings you back to Kansas.
Ha Ha Ha! Good one.
Pick up a pair of bun huggers while you're at it.
If they are a deal, then yes. I will only do so if they are the exact color as the mens, which is not common. I wear a 9 in mens Nike Lunar Trainers and I wear a 10.5 in womens. They were the same color, etc., so I saved $22.00.
No, you can only wear them if you pay full MSRP.
I did the same thing a few years back, got some shoes from Sports Authority for about $25 because they were womens. Didn't end up running in them much because they were a bit too narrow, but I tend to have feet on the wider side. Most shoes only differ in width between genders (but not all) so if it fits it shouldn't be a problem.
It depends how narrow your feet are. Most women's shoes are made in a B width and men's in a D. If you can find a women's shoe in a wide then you'll probably be OK, otherwise you'll probably end up with bunions or some other problem from a too narrow shoe.
Only if the color of the shoes suits with your hair and skin tone.
And if they match the color of his Louis Vuiton handbag.
Have you tried the Caster Cross Trainer?
I think so. There's a 1.5 size difference. I just got size 12 women's running shoes for $60 when the cheapest in men's size 10.5 was over $150. Women's run a little narrow according to what I've seen others say but running shoes like these that are flexible and have thin side walls shouldn't present a problem. Just have to wait for them to get shipped to me and we'll see.
I am a woman with wide feet and I often wear men's shoes because they tend to fit my feet better. I wear a women's 9 or a men's 7.5. I don't see any reason to stick to your assigned gender in buying shoes, and I don't know how anyone will know once they're on your feet. Two things to keep in mind:
1. As others have mentioned, the standard width for a men's shoe is D and the standard width for women's shoe is B. If you have wide feet, women's shoes probably won't fit you well.
2. Women's shoes often (not always) come in more pastel colors, which look like heck the first time you step in a mud puddle. If you care.
Yes, but you will gradually grow boobs.
No you can only buy them when they are not in a sale

Cheapest men's 10.5 New Balance 1400 v5 on eBay: ($151)
This sounds pretty good. I think I'll try it myself.
In women's sizes I will be looking for a size 14 in D .
High quality running shoes are built around a foot model of different sizes for men and women. Other people have commented about the width, and that is probably your main concern, but you want to be sure that the overall fit of the shoe (heel, toe-box, length for all your toes) feels right. If the shoes start causing you any problems, then be prepared to stop using them.
My guess, if they are racing flats or a minimalist style shoe you should be good... but I’m pretty sure women’s running shoes are designed for a different hip angle than men’s
of course, I do that all the time as they're often cheaper. and of course, on sale you often only get the crappiest colors. sometimes I wonder how they come up with so much ugliness, quite astonishing. but if you care about the color of your running shoes, you have some serious issues.
What is this, kindergarten? Wear whatever you want! No one will care because it's a running shoe. If it fits and works for you, then go ahead and get it on sale if you want to get a deal. It's not like you're getting stiletto heels to walk down a runway.
