Damn, this guy has the longest "world class" career of any runner out there. OK, there might be another but very impressive. He won the 1994 Commonwealth Games 1500m in 3:36.70 at 22 and ran a low 2:15 at 46!! I have a new hero!!!

If your dates and my math are right, then he's actually only 38!

If he was 22 in 1994 he isn't 46 now.

His age is true.

He was born in the year of the big harvest and when neighbour Kibaki’s cow had twins.

Ever heard of a typo. He was 32 (actually on 31 due to his birthdate according to the IAAF is 12/22/62.) Still damn impressive.

Reuben doesn't seem to race that much in the US but he is arguably one of the best masters, if not the best, when healthy. I see he took 2nd at Boston but ran a low-1:06 first half that cost him I bet.

I heard Peachtree refused him an entry. WTF!!???! Was it US masters only?

Steve was a few months younger than me in the late '70s/early '80s, so I'm guessing that's still the case. He'll turn 47 this year, I think after September 1st?

When and where did Reuben Chesang run this 2:15?

He ran 2:15:24 at Twin Cities in October for 6th place.

Yes, Boyd will turn 47 in September. He's not 55. Running Times (which is where this info comes from) apparently screwed up getting his age wrong for the age grade calculation.

Ummmmmmmmmmm...NEWSFLASH!!!! 2:15 isn't that fast of an 800 time for a 46 year old. I know plenty of men that have done that.

Nice to see Reuben getting some added PR. His last race was Grandma's where he ran 2:19:30 for 10th overall. He repeated as top master where he was 4th overall last year.

He ran his PR of 2:14:09 in 2002 and in October 2009 ran 2:15:24.

He is the 1994 Commonwealth games champ and was on the 1500m Kenyan squad in Goteberg, SWE. He has PRs of 1:47.52, 3:36.70, 4:58.83 and 7:49.99. Has won marathons in Richmon, Hartford, Pittsburg and in 2005 won the Mexico City Marathon as a 42-year old master.

Plans are being made to set the world record upon his turning 50 in December 2012. Currently 6 courses are being considered for this attempt.

Speaks perect English and is a very personable guy. Speaking with shoe companies about following this two-year journey. This post couldn't have come at a better time.
