No, Puma did not buy letsrun.com.
They did choose to advertise extensively on LetsRun.com in promotion with the launch of the new Bolt line and Usain Bolt running in the Paris Diamond League meet.
We encouraged them to try and do something really cool. We have the most influential, knowledgeable runners on LetsRun.com and there is a lot of value in reaching out and engaging with you all. Matt Taylor (a college teammate of mine at Yale, and the guy who did chasingtradition.com, chasingkimbia.com, and chasingbolt.com) is the International Marketing Manager at Puma and he and many others at Puma understand LetsRun.com and the value it can bring to their brand. While others big brands and races (most recently the adidas Grand Prix and the NYRR) have advertised on LetsRun, no one has tried to do it as in depth as Puma this time.
So what you see on the homepage and soon on the rest of the site is what we all came up with. We at LetsRun want your feedback and I'm sure the people at Puma do to. The more constructive feedback we get the better we at LetsRun.com can do at this in the future. The Paris Puma promo will go away in a few days, but Puma may have some more tricks up their sleeve.
So email or post away. My email is above.
