bring it to van cortlandt
It would be nice to see the race back in Madison, especially since the city is now several degrees warmer than last time they held it.
The new UW course is probably already as good as Indiana State's; it will be interesting to see the Big Ten meet for late-October conditions.
Bring it to somewhere that has actual hills. D1 XC isn't XC. It's track on grass. Let's see some hills/trails/non-Rupp Certified terrain for once.
The Indiana State course is nice but the location is awful. The course in Madison is pretty darn close to being as good. They'd have to make a few mods to allow for more people, put a couple of bridges in so that spectators can cross on some of the loops on the backside.
they need to get the championships somewhere warm. Cali, or florida or a number of other places. They happen in november so weather can be nasty
Good call NCAA. Let's run at Oregon and Louisville where the courses are pancake-flat and lightning fast. That's great cross country right there.
aren't there enough championships out in oregon? enough is enough. why is this meet not in california?

What course in California could possibly host this meet? How many California courses are even grass all the way through? Actually, what course in Oregon could possibly host this meet? I've run at both the current Oregon course and the Laverne Gibson course a number of times and I have to say there is absolutely no comparison. The Oregon course that they have been using is very flat, very boring, and much too small to fit the NCAA championships. It was a mad scramble on the first curve when Pac-10s was run there, how will it feel with 3 times the number of athletes? Honestly as an athlete I think this is some serious bullsh*t, if you're going to rotate the championship at least bring it to a course of comparable quality to the Indiana State course.
Have it in the only made-for-cross country course in California, Crystal Springs. (They don't even allow bikes out there)
Lane CC baby. It is where they used to do it back in the day!

Yeah take NCAA's to the exact same course in a colder location further from a centralized location...that makes perfect sense.
The outline of Wisconsin's course is hilarious because if you line it up with Indiana State's, it's the exact same thing. We need creative minds people!
I think it is hilarious that people worry about the weather conditions and terrain for xc courses. They should be damn hard with snow, mud, and big hills. Sorry but this is not track and it needs to stop being treated that way.
I really can't see the XC champs ever being held in a cold weather climate again after 2013. The massive corporate $$$$$$$$'s that that NCAA XC brings into town is seriously compromised by this risky move. What happened to the 50 degree rule? The corporates, media and runners all agree that the whole NCAA XC week is so much better in Miami.
I think for the promotion of our sports we need to have a centralized location? After watching the USAs this weekend in des moines, ia it was very sad. It was nothing compared to a meet in Eugene. We should have NCAA's in eugene every year and Cross Country in terre haute every year and learn how to promote the hell out of it just like they do for baseball!!!!
Move the NCAA XC meet back to Furman University in Greenville, SC like it was in '97 and '01. The weather is usually pretty good there in November and they have hosted over 20 NCAA regionals. It definitely has some hills and is accessible by three major airports (Greenville, Charlotte and Atlanta).
Furman course is now 50% cart path pavement. Meb wore flats when he won on it.
will that be Eugene again? XC @Hayward
Put it on the Chile Pepper course at U of A campus in Arkansas. It is pretty fast but has one good hill and another smaller one. It has a great design so everyone can see.
I like the Arkansas idea - great course and the weather would probably be better.
