well if fecal matter indeed ended up in anyone's pants I'm sure sorry for them. Shitting yourself over an 8:10...I guess the folks in D2 and D3 would be proud. Qualifying for nationals should be the goal in a Division 1 program. If those guys up in Boone ever gave 2 shits (not like the 1 turd that ended up in YOUR pants after Berry ran 8:10) they could have a national caliber team. The training over there is top notch. Endless trails and grass to run on. It seems like they're turning the page for sure with some great performance this indoor, but again lets not get too excited...it's still the SLOCON! |

Sorry, but it sounds like youre hating. I get it though. It should by the Socon's goal to send athletes to the NCAA's. However, its not that easy. At most, 16 runners are accepted to compete in a single distance event. Sometimes they only run 14. This should not be the standard on "mid-major" success. Kirwa was so close to being named an XC all American this year. Last year Morgan hit a provisional qualifying time in the Mile. And this year Moen ran his ass off and has earned praises from his fellow (and former) conference members. The conference is getting improving every year and it is not just single athletes improving. Its getting deeper in all the event. A time that was once fast enough to get 8th place three years ago is no longer fast enough to be listed on the top 20 rankings list. So congrats to everyone on having a great season…. And Stephen Hammond has aids… I know… Because I gave them to him. |

Actually dumbass(OscarMeyeralec) Have you ever run in Boone in the winter? You can't run on the Trails most of the time because they are covered with snow. Those guys are training on the roads for the most part and maybe at State Farm some, but I assure you that grass is not endless, its pretty small if your trying to go for a good run. Also I dont know if you've noticed but it gets pretty f***in cold in Boone. As in -10 degree windchill. It is pretty hard to train in those conditions. Obviously you are just a negative fagget that gets joy out of bringing people down. When they run a 9:30 DMR then will you shut the f*** up? probably not so f*** YOU |

SoCon Coaches, before you leave for Clemson, don't forget these items: App. St- SoCon Rule book to introduce more App friendly rules at the coaches meeting (squad size limit of 50). While it is fun to win but 200 pts, it is more fun to win by 205. UTC- A hard copy of your entries. You know you did not submit them in time or "accidentally" left someone off WCU- Your 30 foot shot putter, 9 ft vaulter, 2:03 800 guy (this is the same guy), you never know he just may get a point somewhere and you NEED to fill all 6 event spots. Samford- A carrying case for your runner-up trophy, sorry WCU. Citadel- your corps of cadets, You put enough people in events, those 7th n 8th places add up to put you in the top 4. Elon, GSU, CofC- your men's teams, oh wait...... Furman- Your hair gel. Davidson- Your calculator/timer combo to get EXACT splits of every lap of your 6 5k guys. UNCG- your sprints and field events. Yeah, go ahead and bring the one token guy, you never know. Wofford- Your hopes and dreams. Hopes and dreams... |

The Alec kid is pretty pathetic. Was your experience at App that bad that you have to take time ot of your extremely busy day to bash your former teammates? What a loser. I hope Hammond gives you aids. Go Sparts! |

Yes, it's a lovely day in Boone today...only problem is the 50 mph winds, making that 10 miler feel a little harder. Whatever, makes us stronger! Now when the winds kicked up in December when the temperature was 10 degrees, that blew. I welcome you to come to Boone to run in winter - it ain't Saskatchewan, but some days it feels pretty darn close. |

i don't know who thinks they're so cool that they can use my name and be such a c*********. I don't know who you are but obviously you're pretty disenfranchised with the conference- If it's just the "slocon" why do you take to much time to come and be such an ass and tell us we can't get excited about people running faster than the socon has been in a long time. you're right, it's been unusually warm for the last WEEK, moses cone just got useable again (mostly), you've obviously never spent a winter in Boone so you really can't say shit about it. Sure we get pumped up about winning a small conference, but its not like we're just satisfied with conference, you obviously don't know anyone on our team for the last few years, because all we've been trying to do in cross is get better on the regional scene and maybe send some people to nats. There is a ton of pressure on App's team to win conference every season coming from the coaches, we're sending some guys to Notre Dame this year (like Pat Mo last year) and trying to get some faster times down. I don't know what you've got up your ass (Oscarmeyeralec) but it's probably Graves-sized and will take more than one person to get out. |

oscarMEYERalec, you obviously know Alec well enough to know his posts. Who are you? Or are you going to keep hiding behind a user name? It can't be as obvious as I think it is... It's nice to hear that you think we don't give a sh*t up in Boone. I know most of my former teammates cared a whole lot about how we ran. The ones who mattered definitely did. Most of the guys who don't care at App don't stay on the team for very long. For a long time now, App has been driven to take it to another level. We were never satisfied with being Socon champs. App still hasn't put together a good race at regionals, but htat isn't for lack of effort. It was great to see some hard work pay off at Akron. I know they aren't satisfied with that, either. There is a whole lot of racing left to do between now and June. Also, to the guys posting about the cold weather in Boone: you sound like pu$$ie$. And App hasn't come close to running 9:30 yet. Let them do the talking on the track. Good luck to everyone this weekend. Go get another triple crown, App State! -Phil |

What happened? Is UNCG men's team going to score any points this year? |
| OKK! |

probally not....I heared from some "sources" they arent taking alot of runners this year to SoCon because they are saving for a third kenyan for cross country. |

I'm not sure what has been going on over there at greensboro this year but whatever it is, something needs to change. Those new sprinters look quite promising lol |

Why is this thread called 2010 SoCon Cross Country when the recent comments are about your Indoor Conference meet? Maybe too many public schools in your conference. And what is an App anyway? I know I have some Apps on my iPhone. |

How would they be able to get a kenyan by not taking guys to indoor socon? That doesn't make any sense. Their 800 guy graduated, koech is apparently redshirting, and thompson has supposedly been injured. Those are the only guys that usually score points for them. That sums up their lack of points. My question is why does savoia suck this year after running so fast in cross? How can kirwa just miss all american in cross and not even win conference on the track? How come the whole app distance team looks like Ponyboy from the outsiders? Stay gold soderman, stay gold. |

Soderman does seem to be quite the tool. One of our guys noticed it now I can't take him seriously. He's like the Tom Brady of the socon, without the hot girl. |
| oh ya!! |

How come Soderman is a tool? He never talks and when I do talk to him he is an alright guy. I did like Apps hair this weekend though, keeping it classy and they all did a great job. |
