Be serious. They ran poorly at Paul Short but are you really going to try to assert that they are talentless? Look at their track times and past cross results. Even talented teams run poorly. The difference is that teams with talent don't run poorly very often. Keep doubting ASU and they will make you pay. |

Yeah they've run pretty poorly twice now, not a one of them has cracked 25 and you think that there is a chance they can win? Wofford has a better shot at winning than Appy. And dwell on the past years about their success, but it's all about the present and future which is looking all too grim for Appy. It was a nice run they had. |

Their top guy has run 25:50. That right there says it all. No amount of "want" or "desire" is going to win this championship. It would be lovely and romantic to think so but that is not the reality of this sport, or any for that matter. Results win meets, and Davidson, Greensboro and hell even Chat and Furman have put down results much better than App's all year. The 6 year win streak they have will mean absolutely nothing when they line up 3 weeks from now. That is all in the past. The only people who believe it matters are the App boys. It is understandable for people to still think they will win because of their history. But if you take the history out of the equation and simply look at this years results, one can unbiasedly see that App will be lucky to get top 3. Plain and simple. |

Let's take that 25:50 into context a little bit. Supposedly the conditions weren't ideal - Idk what that means really, I wasn't there. But I found this interesting... 4 Forrester, David JR Florida State 25:47.6 5 Taylor, Alex JR Appalachian State 25:50.7 David Forrester finished 18th last week at Notre Dame with a time of 24:33 and he was also 53rd at NCAAs last year in cross. He's definitely legit. I am by no way saying Taylor is a top 60 national runner (as evidenced by his performance last week). But Alex Taylor and Will Raby both have the ability to finish in the top 7 at conference. But yes, App pulling off conference this year would be a little bit of surprise in my opinion. |

This has happened twice now in this thread. First somebody said that hopkins beat fout so he must be good. Now taylor was right with forrester so he must be good. Fout ran the first 3+ miles of that race as a tempo. Do you really think forrester was racing hard at the app meet? The only reason fsu even showed up was so they had an excuse to go to zap. Neither fsu guy was racing in these meets. Taylor and hopkins were both full bore. Please nobody else use rediculous comparisons like this anymore. Use your brain a little and realize that beyond the socon is a whole wide world with much better runners that use races as workouts that socon runners use as the pinnacle of their season. Am I the only one that has the common sense to put this stuff together? |

Brant Tolsma, head coach for Liberty. He couldnt afford to keep mike so he found a place for him to stay. Unfortunately that place just so happen to be UNCG. They have this "one year you're great, the next year you suck." disease goin around there, its pretty contagious. |
