Oregon' men lost this championship by 10 friggin' points. Coming in, their Javelin throwers were seeded for 14 points. How many did they get? ZERO. Both Oregon throwers were placed into flight three (the flight with the 12 highest seeded throwers). When the monsoon-caliber rain storm came, did they delay the competition (as was done for the high jump and pole vault). No, they made this flight compete under unsafe and unfair conditions. How many of this top flight advanced to the 9 man final? ONE!! The other 8 finalists all came from flight 1 (the lower seeded flight) which threw under dry conditions. The two Oregon throwers were#2 and #3 in their flight, but did not advance. I my opinion, this was a bullshit judgement call by the head official of the Javelin, likely costing a team a championship.
