For those that asked, I had, ehem, diarrhea 4 times in the first 3:30. That lead to dehydration then to calf & quad cramps.Hence the waking.

Looks like at least 176 people prayed harder than Josh. Tough luck buddy.
Looks like you didn't see the picture of the little girl from South Africa he is sponsoring who was waiting for him at the finish line.
http://twitpic.com/1sgwc7What have you done today to make a world of difference in someone's life that you barely know?
Tough luck on being you, buddy.

That was very nice of him to do that. But lots of people sponsor poor children from africa. Most don't make a big deal of it (though bringing attention to it is a good idea I suppose so others might also do it).
Get 'em next year Josh! Don't let the haters bring you down.

One encouraging story from his years comrades was the the guy who finished in third place was one of the twins who cheated 10 years ago when they each ran half of the race.
He came back and got a legitimate third place to make up for his previous transgression.
Making it a big deal makes it a bigger fund raiser.

My coach bought a school in Kenya. I only know because he has a picture of the school in his office. He never talks about it and has never recieved one bit of press for it. Everyone on this board has heard of my coach.
Can we make an agreement that in the future we will NEVER get excited about pre race hype involving Hall, Kastor or Cox?
Boston was a joke.
London was worse.
Comrades takes the cake.
The fact that I have bought into the bullshit each time makes me an idiot. Stop this crap and just let them run.
The next thing you know Mahon will be telling us that Hall is preparing to break the American Record. I will know better this time around. All fluff and know stuff.
Cox simply made the same mistake that Hall made in Boston - he ran too slow. If he had ran the last 15 miles in under 45 seconds, he would have won. As a result, the LetsRun crowd was unimpressed, as many individuals on here could have easily won this race and still be fresh enough afterwards to defeat Alan Webb in a 1500m.
Only if "promise me this" learns the difference between know and no.
Don't get bent out of shape over what is posted here or what coaches/runners say. Life still goes on and Monday morning comes around.
I donate blood, does that count?

This report is according to Josh himself. He is the same guy that said he was ready to win. The same guy that said that he was ready to make the last Olympic Team. Why would anyone believe a word that spews out of his pie hole.

agreed. Cox is so disappointing, so lame, so yesterday.
Although I think his babe is hot, so thats cool.
Anyone else think his equipment (KSwiss running shoes) made a negative impact? Seriously, KSwiss for Comrades?
