Do you want someone to say they're proud of you? Loser.
Do you want someone to say they're proud of you? Loser.
None, because I never drive drunk, because I am not a complete idiot like you. One of these days you are going to smash into a car with a family and kill little children and the rest of your life will be ruined. Did I mention you are an idiot?
Maybe once, and I was underage at the time. Freaks me a bit when I think back on it.
every time
I used to do it all the time. I would say 100's. I got caught finally, thank goodness nothing bad happened on any of my instances.
I finally grew up and started to stop my friends from driving drunk, originally because I was worried about them. Then I grew up more and told them not to do it because the worst thing that could happened was that they lived but killed or injured a person or a family or a baby.
I'll be the first to admit that driving over the legal limit is not the problem, driving drunk is the problem. The law is there for a reason and it makes sense, but in reality driving after a few beers or glasses of wine for the average person is not any more dangerous than driving when you don't put 100% of your attention on the road, which seems to happen with most people most of the time. If I have a couple drinks I only focus on the road and never drive if I've had more than a couple.
There are other problems like driving after a damn hard long run when you are almost in a coma, driving late at night when you are exhausted, driving while talking or texting on a mobile. Driving while talking to your kids in the back seat etc. etc.
Drunk driving has the stigma and gets all the attention, but really NONE of these things should be done. If your driving while using a mobile at LEAST use bluetooth.
I agree. Actually drunk driving - once or twice in my life. But at least twice a month I've drove home after 2 to 5 beers and felt perfectly fine. If it's 5 it's usually the span of an entire night (9 to 2 am).
Actually I pay a lot more attention after this amount than I would if I was sober, because I don't want to attract any cops attention. Radio is off, drive below the speed limit, come to a full stop plus a couple seconds.
I've done it about 100 times. Frankly, on the whole I'm not ashamed one bit and in several instances I'm kind of proud. I took the initiative and told friends who started out driving to stop the car, get out and let me drive because I was less drunk than them.
Keep in mind there is drunk and then there is DRUNK. I never drove when I was DRUNK. I did drive when I was legally drunk having had several beers over several hours and took great care to drive defensively and under the speed limit. As far as I'm concerned if I'm a "loser" in those situations I'm no more than a loser than those who are sober and drive 10 mph over the speed limit. Which is what most of those who try to be self righteous about drunk driving do.

That's not even close to the same thing.
Please, when you decide to kill yourself in a car, make sure my wife and 2-year-old son are nowhere near you. Honestly, I really hope you die before you get into a car while drunk again.
If I have three drinks spread over two hours or more I will drive. This would put my BAC at about .02, with the legal limit being .08. If I have any more than that I will buy a cab, no questions asked.
Never have, never will. Unless you count riding a bike, that is.
I drive better and more careful when I'm drunk. I wish I was drunk all of the time. My two accidents have came when I was sober. One accident was a collision between mine and my brothers car when I was pulling into his driveway.
A better question is how many children do you know who have been killed by a drunk driver?
It's like child Porno. It happens out there somewhere but it isn't nearly as rampant as it's made out to be. Odds are no one wants to screw your kid, and no blackout drunk is going to plow them over.
Some estimates say 1 in 10 drivers are drunk at any given time. That makes for a lot of good drunk drivers.
I'm in my mid 40's and I drive legally drunk a minimum 2 times a week for well over 10 years, easily over 1000 times. You can cuss me all you want but I guarantee I'm safer drunk than 90% of the jackasses out there that are sober. If/when I get a ticket I will deal with it then.
You started drinking and driving when you were 35?

pretty much
A better question would be how many times have you been stopped because some idiot cop wants to be a hero catching drunk drivers when you never drink.
I got pulled over last week in my little dink town because I was doing 30 all the way through town in a 35 MPH zone.
I guess if you aren't speeding anymore, you must be drunk.
Yes it is close to the same thing. I'm not going to go into the details but there is pretty much mathematical proof that somebody going 10MPH over the speed limit and/or tailgating someone is just as dangerous as somebody driving at the speed limit and just a sliver over the alcohol limit. But the latter situation is punished much more severely. Which in itself is fine, I'm just pointing out inconsistency and loopholes in the law and that there are a ton of other risks on the road that parents need to be focused on more besides people like me. In twenty years of driving I've only been in one accident. I was totally sober and had to cross an intersection right by a grade school no less. It was a 4 way stop blind intersection where you had to be in the middle of the intersection before you could get a totally clear view of of anything coming. I stopped, no other car was at the intersection, I started to move on through the intersection and some truck came flying through the stop sign over the speed limit and side swiped me. He was totally sober. The fault was a combination of an irresponsible driver, a big truck, and the city allowing a blind intersection because people have to drive cars and they need room to park along the street right up to an intersection. The guy it turned out was stressing out about getting to work. Apparently if he was late he was going to get fired and maybe lose his health insurance. I was alright but my car was totaled. I was reimbursed by the truck driver's insurance and I'm sure his insurance rates went way up if not taken away altogether. But when it comes to the law, the truck driver wasn't punished at all. The guy was sober so apparently that made it alright as far the law was concerned. I couldn't sue the city even thought was willfully denying drivers at that intersection the ability to drive defensively by seeing beyond what was immediately at the intersection. We continue to glorify stressed employees who work long hours with long commutes. Its frankly bullsh#t. Parents like you would do well to start worrying about the many other risks on the road that go into causing accidents outside of DUIs.
I would agree with the 1 in 10 drivers are drunk thing. I live in a pretty upscale area and one thing I notice when running on the backroads is that you can't go 5 feet without seeing a beer bottle, hard liquor bottle, nip, or wine bottle lying on the side of the road. I'm beginning to think that everyone just drives around all day drinking.
I bet if you stopped everyone out on the road past midnight over half of them would be legally drunk or on drugs, probably more on the weekend.
I've driven buzzed plenty of times (<.08 BAC, which some people think is still awful). A limit of .08 is really just kind of ridiculous, but I understand why it's set so low.
How many of you have driven on <4 hours of sleep? Sleep deprived drivers are just as bad as drunk ones.

dude, that's a pretty sick thing to say. the only way it would be even close to justified is if you had absolutely certain knowledge that his drunk driving would result in the deaths of others. it's not even probable that that will happen given that he doesn't drive while being anything more than the slightest bit buzzed.
your moral elitism is ironic considering that you want someone to die for no good reason.
