Im pretty sure, someone support or correct me, that his sprint event(100m,400m,110h,LJ,) point total is the highest by any athlete. This was discussed on a message board once. VALID?

VALID?
According to Decathlon2000, that is true for performances >8000. 100m, 400m, 110h, 1500m. Shoulda seen this his long jump. He gets a leading mark after the 2nd lump, 25'3ish. Then to save eneregy he skratches the rest of his jumps. But then on the last round a USC jumper goes big, 25'7 and reopens the compition. Not to be outdone, Ashton takes off his sweats, warms up, and then on his final attempt goes 25'7(1/4). beating him by a quarter of an inch. Absoloutly clutch |

Is there a list of Hep/Dec 'world records' anywhere? |

Ashton is a soft spoken, intelligent, smal-town (Redmond) Oregon kid who was raised by his mother. He arrived at the University of Oregon as a talented kid, somewhat in awe of the great athletes around him, but he has now matured into one of the greatest of the great athletes. #1 kid, and his race or ethnicity has nothing to do with it. He was raised with good values and he has embraced those values. |

Is he better than Curtis Beach? (serious question, I don't follow Decathlon that much) |

Seriously- Many great decathletes seem to be of mixed heritage: Thorpe, O'Brien, Clay now Eaton. I find this intriguing and awesome. Maybe hybrid vigor applies to the multis? |

Speaking only in generizations it makes sense. Trends show that blacks tend to be better physically and whites tend to have higher levels of intelligent and creative thought and asians higher levels of discipline and focus. Take the best of each and blamo. Want to call me racist? Why don't you check demographics regarding crime rates, olympic medals, wealthiest nation statistics, wealthiest individual statistics and birth rates. Ohh, and my kids are mixed race. |

Don't expect any honest debate here in the imaginary world of political correctness. In this magical land...everyone is the SAME.... |

What seems to be missing here is mention that he is a decathlon guy, NOT a dedicated 100m guy! 10.19w (+2.7) is unbelievably fast for a decathlon guy. There are LEGIONS of guys who fancy themselves 100m specialists who never achieve that time. Imagine what he could do if he focussed on the 100m? |

Ohh, and my kids are mixed race.
Really? You're playing the "blacks are arrested more, proving that they are naturally more lawless" card? Or your variation thereof. That doesn't prove innate racial characteristics. And having mixed race kids isn't an actual defense against charges of racism. But interesting that you immediately go on the defensive about the charge of being a racist. Hmm. |

I feel really sad for your kids and the attitudes they are going to inherit from you. |

@logic feeds. I really feel sorry for your "mixed race" children. That is no joke, very sorry. |
