Sure, 26:59 has changed the idea of what a good 10k is, but this is DEPTH for a conference meet. Including a DNF from Jordan Kyle. Obviously he's sub-30 too. |

based on the blog(http://www.mutigers.com/blog/2010/05/big-12-track-field-championships-day-1.html#more) from big 12 it looks like they were at 16:47 at 5400, which is about 1525 5k pace...that means the second 5k was about 14:00 flat? Can anyone verify that? |

Wasn't Tebo good in high school? |

he is from Oklahoma but he is much more than a freshman, he red shirted his first year and then got a medical red shirt last year. |

they were 15 flat for 5k. and closed in 14:24 |

If only that darned Kosgie had stuck to our plan of running in last place. But we did manage to place 3 in the last 4 runners! -- The Smith Plan at work! |

Mizzou is embarrasing! They host XC and run like crap and then follow it up with nothing (men or women) in the 10K on their home track? Now that Big Rick is gone hopefully they'll bring in a decent distance coach. |
| yes sirrrr |

This would be correct. Race was a little up and down, some 74's thrown in there at the beginning, then got more heated just past 2 miles. |
| jeeze OSU |

Man.... OSU better have some solid recruits lined up. Only one I know of off the top of my head is Jeff Arnier, and he's like a 9:06 or so guy. A lot of their guys just aren't stepping up. Only guy we see continously improving is Colby Lowe. Losing Kosgei / Vail is going to hurt them bad. Will they even make top 5 next year? |
| ughhhhhhh |
| ||
DUMB! I hate OSU but this race means NOTHING about cross-country next fall. That DNF is my boy Joe man who went 14:16 in indoor as a true freshman. OSU had four sophmores run at ncaa cross this past fall. also, they got that washington kid who went like 8:58 last year, moskowitz or whatever. That being said, as long as they dont pull a stanford (oops), they will most definitly be a top 5 team |

Big Tens was better. 29-low to place. Despite Maverick Darling stepping off the track while leading and Lex Williams (28:34 in 2010) having a really tough day. Oddly, 18th was about the same in each race. |

Did the big 10's go out in 15 flat at halfway? Time comparisons mean nothing in championships. |

Could this have something to do with altitude? Usually these guys aren't racing anywhere close to sea level (which Missouri isn't, but it's a lot closer than Boulder), and when they are, it's late season at NCAAs and it's hot and humid. |

No. It definitely has a lot more to do with attitude. |

Way to go Joe! Blue collar no talent HS runner if there ever was one. Just tremendous love for the sport and training. Another walk-on highlight story. |

This blog is covering the Big XII meet pretty well, I think the guy is with the OSU team or something. Whatever the case, it's pretty good http://cowboytrack.wordpress.com/ |
