I just spent 5 minutes of my life watching the Boreman girl run that 5:09. Her stride was graceful, like clockwork the whole way. Her form is near flawless and didn't falter in the latter stages. She ran a well-executed solo race. A second half mile 3 seconds slower than your first isn't bad in HS, uh, elementary circles. It was a pleasure to watch her run. I would agree however with a previous poster who said something along the lines of she will either turn into an NCAA champ OR burn out and disappear ala' all the Garritsons (a prodigious family from the 80's, at 11 James was a 33 minute 10k runner, his sister at that age around 36.) As for her build, it is easy to see she is smaller in stature than her fellow competitors. My daughter at 11 was equally developed, not unusual as the rumor about girls developing faster than boys is indeed true. I do wish her the best. I don't usually spend what little time I have left in this world watching kids race. In this instance, I'm glad I did.
