Makau is good but I think Kebede is alot more experienced especially in racing the big boys. I was surprised Makau ran that good this year. He is more of a half marathoner not a marathoner. If the two were to go head to head, I would pick Kebede nine out of ten. |

its amazing that this race is billed as the best marathon..but they have no splits on the site. and no results posted. piss poor. |

Isn't Wanjiru self-coached? Anyway, write him off at your peril. So what he had an off day? I think he's still the best marathoner in the world today. |

yeah that sucks, i saw gharib cross 3rd in case anyone interested. Ho-hum rotterdam was much more exciting. |

Both the men and women went out slower than WR pace. The women obviously went out faster than the men for their ability because the male winner ran negative splits. The female winner did not. |

To this date, yes, I agree Wanjiru is the best but I should say that he lost focus from last year. Someone spoke of how he started drinking with his home buddies. He also started to have weight problems and he started coaching himself. You heard him say that his passtime is Karaoke. And that is at the village in Nyandarua. As somebody who like booze, he cannot just be at the Karaoke...he will be drinking as well. So we might see Wanjiru go William Sigei way(I hope not!). I saw this coming more than six months ago just before Chicago. I thought he would not even start. But will wait and see. In my opinion we should just wait for new starts to come up. Maybe Martin Matathia could be the new guy. Abel, Emanuel and maybe Geoffrey Mutai might be able to combat Kebede. |

Any one see Abdi in the live field - at the start, during, or finish? He was on the elite list pre-race, but haven't heard his name mentioned at all. |

She's not the only one. Another one who is refusing to give up is Contantina Dita. She finished in 2:41, 25th place. |

He quit running rather publicly a few weeks ago. Something about too many people giving him flak over his training. I don't buy it, but either way, he is out of the sport. |

Hats off to Mr. Gharib for his 3rd place performance. This man is one of the most underrated marathoners out there. 37 years old and he continues to tear it up. |

Who would have thought that we would see the day when a 2:05 marathon was ho-hum. Kebede did a great job but there was no epic duel, no scorching early pace, no world record, no course record and two of the favorites barely finished. |
