1 Virginia 7:15.38 Alex Bowman (1:50.20), Lance Roller (1:46.67), Stephen Finley (1:50.75), Robby Andrews (1:47.78) AD
2 Oregon 7:15.55 Travis Stanford (1:50.56), Mac Fleet (1:47.64), Elijah Greer (1:49.59), Andrew Wheating (1:47.78) AC
3 Penn State 7:17.02 Owen Dawson (1:49.84), Casimir Loxsom (1:46.58), Lionel Williams (1:51.94), Ryan Foster (1:48.67)
that's only college. see at at daegu.
55/53 split: set it up perfectly by dogging his first lap. VIG over VIN!
They ran the same exact split. The only thing Andrews owns is gay sex in the dorm.
they both split 1:47.78. Andrews outkicked Wheating but they still ran the same time. Wouldn't say thats ownage
1:46.58 Casimir Loxsom is the best Freshman in the Nation. Destroys Andrews.
oh he ripped him. actually opened up some space too. kid can roll
Andrews ran like a seasoned pro. He has the knack of waiting until the very last moment to turn on his afterburners.
This race wasn't about time and we all know that. The fact is he outkicked Wheating AGAIN. Everyone claimed indoor a fluke because he didn't see him coming, but this time he straight up stuck it to him again. Can't complain about the short turns this time! It doesn't matter how close it is. Only one person wins and Andrews did twice, one of which was an NCAA title.
Roller and Loxsom were both 1:46. The three top anchors would have run 1:45, but it turned tactical... at which point VIG WINS!

a fresh Andrews beat Wheating who ran 3:59 split yesterday and they ran the SAME time today
Casimir Loxsom (1:46.58), best time of the Day. He is the Best.
It will only be meaningful if these talented frosh run 1.42 some day. If these guys don't get to that level, then we know that that US coaching really sucks. Of course maybe they'll me milers, in which case anything over 3.50 equally says the coaching sucks. Heck even a guy like Webb (who had a lousy coach in Scotty R) has run 1.43 and 3.46, and he's as far away from a medal in a world/Olympic championship race as anyone.
Andrews is a potential star - hope Vig doesn't screw him up. This guy should be an Olympic medalist (probably 1500m) or someone has failed him along the way.
Well squonk has spoken. Anything but an olympic medal is considered failure.
Who have you coached again?

My thoughts exactly, I'm sure Andrews went for a jog yesterday too, so now it's even.

Wait what is Andrews' mile PR? 4:03? Have Andrews run a 3:59 and still beat Wheating the next day. Didn't think so.

So far all Andrews has demonstrated is the ability to beat Wheating after Wheating has already run a sub-4 mile (or close enough at Indoors).
Idiots...Penn Relays web site posts that Andrews and Wheating ran 1:47+. The Flocast announcer yells "1:45" for Andrews. Idiots!! Pull out your watches, turn on the video and get the accurate splits. Wheating and Andrews did run the same overall time...but it was 1:48.8 (after a pedestrian 56 second first lap). Granted, Wheating is not yet in top shape, but he blew it by not forcing the pace on the first lap. Sitting on a slow lap and then trying to outsprint a guy who is a shorter distance guy makes no sense. Regardless, of the fact that he is trying to catch up in his training after that injury, I doubt Wheating will ever make this mistake again. You can bet that he will force Andrews to race a full 800 meters the next time they meet. Anyway, it was an exciting race, but to screw up the lap splits that badly and to claim Andrews owns Wheating shows that idiots are alive and well.
