damn you beat me to it.
running start
That's pretty ho-hum for a 100 leg with a running start, actually. Others have run about that.
Wind aided??????????? Downhill?????? Nah, he is good and he is good for the sport. He has great charisma.
I've heard of a few simualr splits, but since Penn is the only meet that captures relay splits and has an accurate process to do so...I am going say this is the world's best.
I believe Carl was timed at 8.84 in the 4X1 anchor.

It may not be as impressive as the time sounds due to the running start, but to say that it is "pretty ho-hum" is just stupid.
Bolt was NOT running on a Jamaica National Team, but the time is well behind the 37.1 Jamaica ran in Beijing and a number of US National Teams have beaten the time they ran today.

What are you trying to say, that he should set a world record every time her runs? Their time of 37high was good enough to win, and Bolt himself ran very well. Of course other relay teams have ran faster, the other 3 guys were not exactly superstars.
but not today you moron!
You must be new to the sport. Bolt has already split 8.70 and 8.73 in past relays, and several athletes have split 8.8X.
If Jamaica would have lost the time would have meant nothing.

Why would you say that when Seiko has officially recorded Bolt at 8.70 in Beijing and 8.73 in Berlin?
you're ridiculous man...admit the fact that 8.79 is a helluva split in APRIL

Did I ever deny that fact?
Why are others arguing against clear facts?
Reading comprehension on this board is at an all time low, which is why I took a month break. This is my first day back and I already hate most of you.
It was actually Asafa Powell who recorded 8.70 and 8.73 in anchoring Beijing and Berlin. Bolt's best prior to this run is an 8.98.
However, that 8.98 came on the back curve - a performance right up there with a straight in the 8.7s. The closest split I could find was Tyson Gay's 9.05 in Osaka.
Which leg did Bolt run at Penn?
Anyone ever heard of "The Bullet" Bob Hayes?
Bolt anchored.
Relay splits in the 4x1 are as ri-tarded as it gets. It is not even CLOSE to being accurate. Besides, Bolt didn't move until there were about 60m left. He looked like he just jogged out of the exchange zone.

Agreed on both points. He smoothly accelerated to about 70 meters and then just floated home. Pretty awesome to watch. That said, the US team in second looked really good all the way, too.
