For months, the Penn State 4 x 800 has been the talk of LRC (see the links below). People have been talking them up and and dreaming- Oregon matchup. We are finally less than a day away.
From what I can tell, it seems that Penn State is running the DMR fresh as is UVA with Robby Andrews anchoring. As a result, both could win as Oregon is going to be tired. If Oregon goes after the DMR and the 4 x mile, it's hard to imagine that Mac Fleet or Andrew Wheating won't have already run earlier in the day on the 4 x mile (and likely the day before on the DMR) while Penn State and UVA have taken the easy road and just rested up for the 4 x 800.
As a result, it's hard to know who will win now. Penn state fresh has to be the favorite. Andrews and Wheating and Foster are all probably capable of a 1:45 split but there is a big difference doing it fresh versus doing it after a triple.
