In my greenhorn experience as a track officionado, I've never heard of the Brutus Hamilton meet, but I wish I could be there to see it.
Rupp is supposedly being paced by Asmerom (hard to believe Asmerom wouldn't want to scorch one on his old stomping grounds). Rupp has already run 13:14i this year, a 4-second improvement upon his previously-held AR (now owned by Lagat, 13:11.xx). I'm not sure who the guys from Guatemala are, but I'm not sure there is anyone who can hang with Rupp for more than 8 laps(Smith, Horn, Gabrielson maybe?). If Asmerom takes Rupp out at 2:38-40/km pace (13:10-20 5k pace) I wouldn't be surprised if Rupp finishes with negative splits, although he may very well not have anyone there to push him to the end. Here is what I think for the races I'm interested in:
5000m invite:
Rupp, 13:08-12
3000m womens invite:
Rowbury, 9:00-2
Mens Dan Bowden Mile
Michael Coe, 3:59.xx (not sure anyone else in the field is capable of sub-4 right now)
