are you sure men have better endurance? look how close the marathon world records are (2:03:59 to 2:15:xx)[/quote] 11 minutes is not a long time, right. Look how close the 100m are! They're separated by like 1 second! |

Knew a guy 45:xx, 1:15 600m post-college. Could NOT run 800m In HS he ran 1:20 600m (50 first 400) as part of training. Refused to run 800 The best I saw him/read he ever ran for 800m was 1:51. And he was feeling sorry for himself the whole race. And its not like he didn't have examples around him of guys who could do it. Teammate was a 4-8 guy in HS, ran 1:43 in college. SR could run <2:00, but doesn't want/care to. She has done plenty already, so no need to be too distracted. |

I submit 2:11ish is closer to 2:10.74 than 2:10 is. 65/66 I hear |

She went through 400 in about 1:05. She tried to really hard to kick and started to catch some of the front but there was just nothing left and she didn't have it in the last 50. It was very wet out and alot of the times were about 2 seconds slower than normal. I'd say with a lot of training she could get down to 2:06 or so. Its weird to watch a sprinter run an 800. Their form is very different from when they sprint. It was like watching a completely different runner. The guys 800 was fun to watch. Baylor's Chris Gowell got boxed in really bad and hit the 400 in last place but he kicked the last 200 to win it in 1:50 low. Also does anyone know where South Plains gets all their sprinters from? They kept coming out of no where in every race. They even had a guy run 45 low in the 400. I was impressed. |

South Plains guys are mostly foreign. I think the 45 low guy was on his countries olympics 4x4 team |

Yes US. his teammate ran 1:43 at the OTs, so out of season I suppose. |

That's not bad for a sprinter. There was a guy at the JC who won 200/400 at state in 21/46, and during the season he raced an 800 against an average distance runner who ran a best time of 2:10. They were kicking full out down the stretch, and the distance runner outkicked him. |

The guy I am talking about ran 1:15 600m finishing right behind a 1:45 800m runner. This classmate was NOT a 200/400 type. I am not sure he ever broke 21. Def not better than 20.8 As Coe said, what matters most is the 8 inches between your ears. |

Or the 8 between your legs according to Craig Mottram |

She will run as fast as the rest of the runners...at least that's what they say at Crossfit. "4. Sprinters can match the cardiovascular performance of endurance athletes even at extended efforts." Morons. |

Oh but I do.....! look around...the answer is in front of you! Anyway, lots of 400m could be great 800m, jsut like Alan Webb could be a great 5k runner. |

You guys all suck. Girl goes out at runs 2:10. So what? What did you expect? 1:51!? Ive never been around a bunch of douche bag babbies like this board before. She is one of the best 400m runners in the world and because she couldnt 'step-up' (like you all want everyone to do, lets admit it) and run a world class time in the 800m, you are all hatin? Let her train and do what she needs to do. Until then, shut up. Everyone, shut up. -ONE- |
