Racial profiling - JW looks like he could be a good 800 runner. SR looks like a sprinter.

You are right, but she has so few losses that those cases are more notable; she has won both ways but really only lost with the fade, I think (I could be wrong, but this is my memory on this). If you have more, please comment further.

She lost a couple of times with the fade. I know in 2007 she was diagnosed with some sort of disease that really hurt her recovery. She failed to make the team in the 400 for Osaka (couldnt handle the rounds), made it in the 200 and made the final. In 08 she was looking good and I think she just started out to fast in the 400 final. Still got 3rd.

Last year she steam rolled everyone. No one was close.

nicola sanders (49.6 at best, 2nd in world champs 2 years ago) ran 2:03 at the start of last season, but is more of an 800 type than SR. I'll go for 2:04-5.

Im going to say her time is going to vary on how the race plays out..

Off of pure fitness she could probably run 2:02-2:03, but since not all races go as planned, it could definitely be slower.

You guys are a hoot. I'm one of those people who thinks Wariner at his best could have run <150 and made it look good in a world class 800m... for 640m or so. 1:43 is another issue, not sure Wariner has El Caballo motivation in the 800m, don't think we'd ever see him leading an Olympic final from the start.

Of course I'd like to see Richards go through in 57/1:27 but more than likely she'll cruise it. I'd guess 2:07+.

Yes, 49.4 and 1:56.mid. Of course we've heard of her.
However, Miles-Clark stopped running the 400 as her primary event and trained specifically for the 800. She had been running the 800 for a couple of years before dropping that 1:56. She didn't do it training as a 400m runner. Also, Miles-Clark was "only" a 23.03 200m runner. Sanya is a 22.17 200m runner. This suggests they were 400m runners of different molds.
Not saying Sanya is not capable of something very good, but she's not training as an 800 runner.

Just like Joetta Clark and Alysia Johnson and Hazel Clark and Jearl Miles-Clark and Johnny Gray and Mark Everett and Khadevis Robinson all blew their potential just because they're "american black"? These are just a sampling of the best 800 meter runners that are "american blacks". All have run in Olympics and World Championships representing the USA, and are the majority of the best 800m runners we've ever had in this country.
You are an ass!
By the way, Sanya is Jamaican born, you dumbass.

Jearl Miles Clark ran a 1:57 the same year she PR'd in the 400. She was running fast 400's and 800's at the same time.

What will she run, I haven't a clue. I don't know ANYTHING about her training, if there will be pacesetters, her competition etc. What I do know if she decides to move up to the 800m after 2012 she could definitely develop into a sub 1:55 half miler. Yeah I know her sprint capabilities but the 800m is becoming more and more a sprint and within the next ten years you will see more 400m and even some 200m runners moving up successfully mid/late in their careers to the 800m.

Im serious when I say that I'm fascinated by this. I thought about even trying to raise like $50,000 to get a Wariner or Usain Bolt to run an 800 at the end of the season.

Rojo...you either smoked something today, or Missed a zero....no way Bolt would ever run an 800 for $50k! lol.
