Interesting day in R'dam ctiy again... Kwambai came jogging by at a mile to go, slower than most of the runners that still had an hour of their run left ;-) Magda L-B was really powering in the latter stages and was actually gaining on the Ethiopian winner. James Carney had a tough race. On some parts was a difficult wind to cope with, especially when running alone like Carney did. The next pack was running 2.17 pace, so he had no support from them. |

There is little doubt that the performances at Rotterdam are aided by race officials. Race officials coach the athletes from the course, hand them drinks, shower them with water if needed, drop back to shout at them to catch up when they fall back. They are managing the field as the race goes on. This nonsense would never be permitted at Boston, New York, Chicago or London. Rotterdam bends the rules to try to get the fastest possible finish times. They will never be part of the Majors. DD |
