He is also running for Senate as a Republican. Wonder if these two things are related?

You think you prove the falsehood of his argument by identifying him as a Republican? What an idiot.

It proves both him and you idiots.
No I don't think that, and you are not very nice.
I hope you realize how wrong that bozo is. America will not stand still and allow the insurance, HMO, and medical corporation CEOS to destroy our national health. Patriotic American Congressmen and Senators in the U.S. Congress will defend America and reign-in lawlessness, corruption, and theft. Prices will be kept down by existing laws. New laws will be enacted as necessary to protect our country. The FBI will be assigned to investigate cheating executives and CEOs. The Justice Department will seek court orders to install computers in corporate server rooms to monitor and keep tabs and insurance and billing theft that threatens our American way of life. It's only the beginning. We will fight you anti-American traitorous NEOCON/KKK cowards every minute of every day until you submit to our American ideals.

Who do you expect to pay for all of that?
Lazy slobs licking up the free healthcare?
To make this thing work, it will take massive cash outlays amounting to multiples of the budget estimates, 100 000 of new federal paper pushers, 16 000 of them Health Care compliance agents at the IRS.
The cash will come out of regular citizens packets in the form of both increased taxes and increased insurance premiums. To finance it the Value Added Tax, aka national sales tax, will be introduced. So much for 'no new taxes for under 200k families' pledge.

Prices are determined by the laws of economics, not by the laws of politicians. If you believe that a few thousand pages of unintelligble legal code can keep prices down, you are in for a major disappointment indeed.
The same people who think this plan will bring down America are the same people who think they will never need a doctor because they run. Idiots.
this plan is horrible. please read:

i love that Obama has tried to something, but he has only made the problem worse. he is trying to fix the wholes on the titanic. no matter what its still going to sink. time to look for new boats.
If the insurance companies break the laws they will be subject to fines and jail. If they obey the laws, Americans will be covered as never before. The insurance companies will be watched like a hawk. Every transaction will be subject to federal scrutiny. In the months to come, Congress will work on reforming medical practices and billing procedures. New laws will be enacted to protect the American people from cheating HMOs and doctors. They will have no choice but to obey the laws. The federal government will be looking at every transaction in realtime using the internet. Do you understand me ? If they break the law the will suffer the consequences. No more of their shenanigans will be allowed. The FBI and Justice Department are on their asses every second, every minute, every hour, of every day, 364 days a year. The American people will not be ripped off by medical and insurance criminals any longer.

He should of update.
Dbagger, national health care works in every other country; it can work here.
You are prone to believing lies.
Let me ask you a question; did you get your political affiliation by your own thought, or was it shoveled to you across the dinner table as a child?
I thought so.
i don't understand... are people just going to quit their jobs so they can get free healthcare? does that make sense? People just love going to the doctor so much that they decide they don't need money anymore?
The stratosphere??? Oh no! Good thing global warming isn't real or we'd really be boned. Where's the birth certificate?

FYI, I was shoveled steaming hot plates of decadent liberal bullshit across the dinner table as a child.

agree. FDR and his horrid tax policy steered us right into it.
The argument over healthcare surely hides rather more urgent issues.
Fiddling while Rome burns as it were.
As an old African hand, I was quite amused and a bit disturbed when America voted in a black president.
From my experience, African leaders know little other than - spend - spend - spend.
Economic realities? What are they?
And Obama is certainly living up to expectations.
And I see the rest of the world is starting to notice as well.
The bond market is already finding it’s safer to lend to Warren Buffett than Barack Obama.
(Two-year notes sold by the billionaire’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. in February yield 3.5 basis points less than Treasuries of similar maturity, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Procter & Gamble Co.)
Obama’s spending will add about $9.7 trillion to the national debt over the next decade.
(A trillion here and a trillion there - soon you’re talking real money.)
By 2013, 11 per cent of your taxes will go just to service that debt!
And from then on?
The young population of the US should be more concerned as to their future prospects in a bankrupt society in a very uncertain world - rather than arguing about healthcare.
Health provision in the US already cost about twice that of the next highest paying countries, (and it will escalate, I guarantee it) which are - Norway, Germany and France.
Their health services are very good.
Beats me why the US just didn’t chose what’s best about their services and just copy them.
