How fast did they end up? Deena was 10:11 at 2 miles or 66:30 pace. Just curious how bad the fade was this time around? |

Kameis won... Universal Sports decided not to show us the finish. Which was nice of them. So I didnt see the time. Unofficially though, he ran 59:53. Yes. Shitty race |

maybe this is why teyba naser was refused entry in the race, teyba will instead run the los angeles marathon today. |

I was at 6.5 miles and Deena had this ridiculous lead. Of course that's because she was running ridiculously fast, leaning into it like it was a 10k. I thought if she doesn't blow up she'll have a WR. |

honest question... what kind of drug testing do they do at these events. i assumed trafeh was tested at gate river as it was a national championship. being a big money event, i assume there is some kind of test for money winners at nyc too. does anyone know the extent of testing and what they test for? is it as intense as olympic (blood) testing? |

At the NYC1/2Marathon they test for availability to run NYCM in the fall, period. |

I believe they test the top 3 men and women and then they test a random sample of other top 10 finishers. I know someone from nyrr or usada can answer the question. |

No one will get any money until all the drug testing has been completed. |

testing at races doesnt matter. it does nothing. If an athlete is doping and they know exactly when they are getting tested (i.e. the race) then they'll be sure to know when to last take the drugs before the test and clear it. EPO tests only detect EPO for the last 48hrs of a full dose, and only 2-4hrs on a small buy effective microdose. So, youu have to be an idiot to be caught doping at a race. |

Damn, Geb momentarily stopped at mile 9 because he had an asthma attack. That really sucks. As a fellow asthma-haver, I can attest that when you literally cannot breathe, the last thing you care about is running. Good on him for finishing; that takes heart, especially when he knew he would not win at that point. http://runinfinity.com/2010/03/new-york-city-nyc-half-marathon-2010-results.html |

Oh yeah, just like he did in that marathon not too long ago. Not like he got caught and then fought them off for the win even though it wasn't a great time. Seriously, why the hell would you say something like that without knowing anything about the situation? You're a douche. |

That's where random, out-of-competition testing comes into play. |
