I also must apologize. Weldon called me and asked, "Has Emory lost it? He's picking Wheating to lose the 800." I said, "I think Andrews can do it. The kid has an unreal kick."
But then I started looking at what Wheating has done and when I saw that he had run a 3:58 when 2nd place was 4:02 and reminded myself that he's an Olympian, I thought to myself "Your just suffering from East Coast bias because you've seen Andrews run." Don't be an idiot, put Andrews 2nd - no one else will even have him that high.
But in the pack of my head, I thought "I've seen Andrews kick, i don't see how that kick ever loses a race" and "No one remembers outrageous predictions if you are wrong, only if you are right."
If only we'd stuck to our guns.
I too therefore have voluntarily suspended myself for two weeks meaning that Employee #1 will now have to do all the work.
