If anyone watched the US Indoor Champs this weekend (especially the men's 1500 meters), you would see that the so called "stiff arm" or "push" was nothing more than a sign of affection compared to what was going on at US Indoors. Also, I don't see why anyone at all has brought up the fact that Leeder was completely impeding on Mulherin. Leeder had not established position at all after passing Mulherin. He began cutting in too early causing Mulherin to lose balance and put a hand on Leeder's back to maintain balance. I don't care if Mulherin is a douche, he doesn't deserve to be disqualified. |

Leeder did not have a full stride lead and can not cut in. Mulherin had the choice of either being knocked off the track or stiff arm. Leeder was at fault. /your argument |

I heard the VT runner in question call an FSU coach "a f*cking cock" and the coach simply tell a VT coach to get his athlete under control. The AD from Virginia Tech must be soo proud of his coach and his athletes - so must the ACC. |

I'm not a fan of either the chokies, or FSU but I will say that the call is crap. Leeder was impeding Mulherin's stride. I was by the start line and as a runner I can say that in that situation most people would make the same decision unless you want your momentum completely shot. There were "bows" thrown both ways and it seems the offical action taken was excessive. Besides it seems if you DQ one you need to DQ both. Maybe UNC should have won? |

Mulherin had the choice of not letting the guy pass him in the first place by using his legs to run faster. He can guard his space with his arm but not extend his hand out. |

Leeder was not "cutting-in" when the contact happened. Leeder was already ahead at that point. Watch the video you want to flaunt in our faces. Mulherin does not break stride once so Leeder did not commit a foul. But Mulherin does not have room to get by Leeder without pushing him out of the way. Leeder is in front and it is his space that is being impeeded upon my Mulherin. When Leeder tries to protect his space that was rightfully gained when he PASSED Mulherin, Mulherin decides to push and shove his way through the inside. Busted by the official. Upheld by the meet referee. Get the violins out. |

I can't tell what the contact before the big stiff arm was. I can't tell if the VT runner or the FSU runner threw the elbow before the second big shove. Regarless, the big stiff arm was uncessicary and done right in front of the officials, so if for nothing else he should have been DQ'd for stupidity. |

Wow you ACC pussies need to grow a pair. Pushing/Shoving happens in races. Just look at Big Tens... someone hit the deck in every distance race and no DQs handed out. Luciano and Peacock in the 3k, Ahmed in the 5k, and Mellon in the 800. Believe it or not but track is a contact sport. |

I don't care what you think or how passionate you are, you don't go posting somebody's personal web page here. State your case, post links to photos or vids, but leave the personal info and insults out of it. I believe the rule is a stride and a half before cutting in. It does not appear from pics or vid that FSU guy had that, but I was not there. The officials made the call. |
