How fast does the average MLB player run from home to first base on 90ft diamond ...assuming the MLB player is excited to EITHER see his hit make its way through the hole past infielder...or player thinks it's going to be close throw at first ...obviously some MLB players will just jog for a routine flyball - and please, this thread is NOT about calling MLB players lazy because they do this, i just want to know roughly what pace they go on an important play.
I'm just curious if most of us here on LR would be as fast, slower, or faster.
1 foot = 0.3048 meters
home plate batters box to 1st base = ~91-92feet let's say
so ~91 feet = ~27.7meters + or minus some, who cares
Im not fast and im not going to overexaggerate my ability (or lack thereof). Because Im a pure distance guy, I never do anaerobic tough 200s or anything. I just run some 200s (good form) in a workout for maitenance in like 35-37 so I'm just wondering how running around 33-35 for 200m would compare to the time it takes for avg MLB hitter to run from home to 1st base after leaving the batters box - assuming the MLB player is excited to see his hit make its way through the hole...or player thinks it's going to be close throw at first
