However he is an idiot, as the points should be that the death happened months ago, but it says she was only arrested and charged with the murder on Tuesday...which is what this thread is about.

This tragedy/turn of events has been reported on every few days in the Ventura County Star. No matter what, Jane Laut shot Dave Laut four times in the head, lied about a prowler and the whole community is shocked about the recent unveilings. To many it is character assassination on a dead man's legacy. Since I live in the area, I know people who knew him and are heartsickened by this all over again.

The other terrible thing is: Dave Laut is dead and obviously cannot speak for himself, so the entire story of them being married for 29 years and her being subject to abuse just confounds everyone. The lawyer representing her (Ron Bamieh) also represents the Ventura Co. Star newspaper and the trial will be held in Ventura Co. so it appears that by the lawyer openly speaking about this in the press he is tainting the jury pool. He also represented a woman who shot her husband and got off last year. It is all bizarre.

You have to feel very sorry for the son.

Well...unless your Dave and then your guilty until proven innocent with these allegations. Seems very unfair and something hard to dispute when you're dead.

And why not throw in some 25 year old steroids allegations just to help with your defense? Oh and say he threatened to also kill their son too, that should help....

If the kid was younger her defense would also include some molesting charges...

The terrible thing is she will get away with it. She will either be acquitted or given a sentence of less than 2 years in jail. She will not need to present any actual proof of her character assassinations. It is amazing the sort of abuse that women get away with, including murder. Reminds me of that lady in Tennessee who killed her husband. She got off, too.

"Jane Laut initially told police that her husband went to the backyard Aug. 27 to investigate suspicious sounds and she heard shots fired, police said. Officers searched for a prowler, but concluded within days that the killing was not random.....The argument spilled out into the yard where Dave Laut lost his balance and tripped at the edge of the patio. A struggle ensued and once Jane Laut had the gun, Dave Laut came at her after threatening to kill her and their son...."

1) His blood alcohol level was .05

2) He was a world class shot putter

3) SHE got the gun?

4) A big man is coming at you and you aim for the head (a relatively small target and difficult to hit with a hand-gun in a state of duress while assailant is moving) and cap it FOUR times?

5) You lied about the prowler story

6) she must have gone to the range a lot to be able to hit a moving target about the size of a volleyball 4 times.

The poor baby. His only recourse is to change his name to a muslim name. Then Mike Farrell , Ed Asner and the Beastie Boys can cry how he was set up .

1) Who cares if he was on roids, half the US team in '84 were.

2) If it was self defense then why didnt she just admit it at the time, changing her story only when suspected screams guilty.

3) A picture tells a thousand words, and in this case most of them are psycho.
