That song sounded nothing like Billy Jean at the beginning.
Well its not listen to the whole song....
I immediately thought it had to be The Lion Sleeps Tonight (The Tokens).
Impressed that malmo got it off so little/incorrect info.
And surprised that's he's a Gwen Stafani fan (or maybe he just has a MusicID app in his brain)
walk like an egyptian. the bangles.

What's that song that goes "wee oh, wee oh" in the chorus? The second "wee" goes up to a higher pitch than the first. I think it might be an oldie, definitely a classic party song. Thanks
10/10 thread.
that answer doesn't satisfy the other stipulation of the op. it has whee ooh, not whee oh, anyway, but it also doesn't vary pitch or duration. the bangles's song would be an oldie to a young 'un, from before his birth.

Just great. You're responding to a 5 year old thread that was already solved by wineturtle and malmo.
wicked by future
"wee oh, wee oh"? All the chrous's sound with a why-oh, why-oh.
A most violent lyrical song with the punctuation musically
reminiscing Tommy James and the Shondells.

"you stand with the gun in your hand
staring at the wall with a look so sad
and thinking about who really cares
and will they even notice if I just disappeared now?
one bang, blood rushed to the head
she'd rather fly through the sky than walk with the dead
so, she stays high while the world goes by
and just another day here waiting to die
CHORUS:
life is beautiful
you share a little love with the whole wide world
every boy and girl sing along
when we sing why-o, why-o"
And if you want to reverse the title, try this "Oh-wee Baby"
Most likely the best bass players in a record from the fifties.

Is it that song from Wizard of Oz that the winged monkeys are chanting as they march along?
It is a real deep chant "weee oh weee oh weee oh"
Yes, that's it, but it starts: "Yo we oh, wee oh."
gwen stefani "sweet escape"
I was also trying to identify this song when I stumbled upon this 7-year-old thread. I believe the song is "Angels" by Flora Purim. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIQuhF-S6I8
Coincidently I heard this cover earlier today.
