He could possibly make the team again.
But then again he will be very old.

I think he can make the US team, but getting a medal in 2012...well thats going to be very very difficult. If he does it will be most impressive.
Its ok by me cause I'll be twenty four, and still a youngster.
You idiots kissing his ass all these years are the same people that talked about how good Regina Jacobs was blah blah blah at her age. This is the same guy that couldn't outkick Goucher in a 3K in college. A few short years later he was the 2nd fastest miler ever to walk the face of the earth. Completely idiotic. Everyone that is accusing Rupp of doing steroids should be accusing this guy, the person that has tested positive before.
This is just stupid. I will go on record saying lagat will never win an outdoor international title. If he was ever gonna it was in berlin, or back in his heyday running for Kenya. He is a great runner but lets be real. Hell Galen Rupp has more chance of running and 26.30 10k.
You must mean he'll never win another international title.
This is the correct answer.
Why is Brett Favre competitive at 40? Why was Roger Clemens able to throw 97 mph in his 40's?
Wake up people.
He hasn't broke 3:32 in a few years. He isn't as fast as he used to be. I mean, he's ran 3:26 before. He has slowed down... he was just so much better than everyone in the past, that even slowing down, he's still competitive. He may run 12:50 this year, but back when he ran 3:26, he was probably capable of 12:30s.

Lagat's compeitive goose is cooked!
He's lost his competitive edge with the passage of time.
I love Lagat, I loved the enthusiasm with which he battled El Guerrouj but as fate would have it, we all succumb to the effects of old age.
He hasn't been in a race that went under 3:32 in a few years.
So he just has not attempted sub 3:32. It doesn't mean he couldn't do it.

nope
he mighta gone 12'45 - 12'47
1500 speed means little over 5k - look at 3'32 kennster crushed by komen & choge v them
Oh shut the hell up you delusional Galen Rupp butt sniffers. Lagat may not win but he'll once again be one of the few representing the U.S athletes in the distance events that end up with a medal. (Ritz should medal in the marathon). And for the uneducated fool who said Goucher was outkicking Lagat in 3000m in college races. First of all, Lagat didn't start professionally training for distance events until he was about 21 or 22. So basically he was a BEGINNER (or a late bloomer) compared to Goucher who had a shit load of racing experience and training under his belt. That's why you noob.
The guys a gamer. Every race he enters he has a chance to win. 2012 will be no different. Look at the guys stats for the past ten years.

I'll take him in my country in a second.

Goucher got 6th at world cross during his career....He's legit and worthy of beating other world class runners. Shouldn't be so outlandish to fathom him beating Lagat in college.

This!
It's such a shame that he got injured before the 2008 Olympics, because he would hav done very weel there. But medalling in 2012 is a stretch, just as it will be for Geb.
Sorry about the typos. Effin sticky keyboard.

Well scoot your chair back next time.
Harry: It gets worse. My parakeet, Petey.
Lloyd: Yeah?
Harry: He's dead.
Lloyd: Oh, man, I'm sorry. What happened?
Harry: His head fell off.
Lloyd: His head fell off?
Harry: Yeah. He was pretty old.

Yes but that was in 2006. I'm talking about when they both were in college. Big difference. Besides was out kicking bekele in 2006 so......
Lagat was out kicking bekele in 2006 is what I meant to say.
