Odd place to be putting up a prize purse and travel money, but you don't get that kind of group without a bit of that. Interesting they even brought in US runners. Nice thing to see, we could use more like that.
Unfortuneately this race gets tarnished somewhat because of its closeness to the pharmacias of Old Mexico.
Remember, the 2009 version of this race began the downfall of Liza Hunter-Galvan. She is quoted as saying it was at this race (2009) that she was "put on to" Recormin by an elite male runner at this race last year.
Just sayin....
Tiny? Buy an almanac. The Edinburg-McAllen-Mission area has a population of more than 700,000. Stop trying to stir shit.
!st Ediburg FTW!
Here are the complete results from the so-called tiny Texas town. Actually this is one of the biggest 10k races in south Texas...and only a $10 entry fee!!!
Alene Defarge or whatever her name is the overall winner is the daughter alene reta the drug cheat, all of those kenyans from mexico are on drugs anyhow,
Wow, this is a new low for Lestrun. Not only are white people the only clean athletes, but if they get too close to a neighboring country they can get contaminated!
Who cares, Rush sucks
"a neighboring country" which just happens to have epo/hgh/steroids as cash-OTC-no questions asked.

And nevertheless, practically all runners who have been caught with EPO have been white. Maybe the reason Mexico has an over the counter policy for EPO, as you claim, is because they don't have a problem with idiot athletes willing to cheat to win.
Mexicans have far more direct ways of converting drugs into cash than by taking epo injections.

Alene Reta was 2nd at the 2009 edition of this race.
Who is this Melissa Todd? She was just behind some US gals with pretty good credentials. Too, I hear the conditions were pretty windy and the race is 6.3 miles? Any confirmation on this?
Melissa is from Kansas City, nice to see she had a good race.

So you must blame 7-11 for your mom's pack-a-day habit. Or Anheuser Busch for your shitty grades. Quit being such a bitch and take responsibility for your own problems.
How was Alene even allowed to race here after failing drug tests recently? What about this Westley Keating, rumors he had some experiments with drugs while attending college?
Speaking of Collegiate drug cheats, I heard a funny story about Western Washington Univ in the Northwest, a girl may have tested positive??? Anyone???
pretty sure alene reta hasn't failed a test since his first fail in japan back in 2001. If he finally went to another race that tests and got caught that is great news but I missed it.
is back in ethiopia and his daughter has taken over the roadracing $$$
