There was a news report this evening that there has been a drastic increase in the sea lion population on the Oregon Coast (especially near Sea Lion Caves). There is speculation that some of the San Francisco population (wish they were seals so I could reference the old baseball team) headed north.
If you actually read the article, it says the earthquake theory is outlandish.
I was there yesterday and it was fairly entertaining watching the visitors trying to see a sea lion, "Is that one?", Is that one?"
No Ma'am, that's a seagull.
So long and thanks for all the fish
Global warming. They couldn't handle the waters of SF Bay being 85 degrees, so they headed north.
There was a small 2.5 quake in the SF Bay/Oakland area on the 6th of January.
If the sea lions were earthquake sensitive, they probably should have know better than to head north though. There was a 6.5 of the coast of Eureka just yesterday.

You say that like they can predict where an earthquake will be. I don't think anyone has ever claimed that they can tell where its coming from, only that its coming.

They were probably a lot farther north than there.
