I would hesitate to make this conclusion. Some argue that marijuana use is higher in this group as marijuana helps those afflicted with schizophrenia relieve symptoms. This is not the same as smoking marijuana in adolescence makes members more susceptible to future onset of the disease. It's more likely that a greater number of adolescence predisposed to the disease tend to smoke.
The most compelling evidence of, B(schizophrenia symptoms) causes B(higher rates of marijuana use in adolescence) vs A( higher rates of marijuana use in adolescence) causes B(schizophrenia symptoms) that I have read is those diagnosed with Schizophrenia, show significantly higher ratio of use (former and or current)than the general population.
By the way, I also read that while marijuana can relieve symptoms, it is not considered a good drug for managing symptoms long term. There may be evidence to suggest that marijuana may aggravate symptoms, but this I am not entirely sure of.

Well it has been pretty much PROVEN that marijuana use increases the chance of developing schizophrenia in susceptible individuals especially if begun in adolescents.
