Thanks for posting that article. He is an interesting young man. Glad things have worked out for him in the military. It sounds like he is coming off a tough assignment - hope he enjoys his time with his family and friends.

This was an absolutely amazing article. Ken is the guy that I idolized throughout high school. Watching him come win the Footlocker Championships provided me with the inspiration I needed to chase my own dreams of being a Footlocker Finalist. Cormier has empitomized what it means to be an American citizen. Hardworking, perseverant, intelligent, humble, and tough as nails. It's people like him that I strive to emulate. Thank you Ken Cormier.

I can barely recognize Ken in that last picture.

No the BEAR CORMIER did not wash out d-bag. he made it through scout sniper school. From my understanding it has roughly a 70% fail rate first time through.

What a coward. He murders little white kids and white old ladies with his gun by shooting them in the back from a tree. He's going to hell now.

He is doing a very difficult task and putting his life on the line to serve his country. You never will understand what that means because you cannot comprehend what putting the needs of others above your own needs means.

He may be all those other things but he is not intelligent.

what's so admirable about shooting kids and old folk ?

Ken if you are on here please, please I beg of you get on here and talk about how you finally showed a miltary person what it's like to actually "RUN". I will admit I can never do what those mean do ,but when they brage about there friends doing sub-3 miles it gets on your nerves. Please do tell about how you smoked them down.

I met Ken and ran with him when I was stationed in Hawaii. I tried to get him to run on the Marine XC team, but he was devoted to finishing Sniper School. Ken is a good kid and done very, very well so far in the Marine Corps. We chatted over diner about his running and future. He says he still has a passion for it and some day plans to get back at it, on his own terms, when he is ready. Right now he is concentrating on the Marine Corps. By the way he is still pretty damn fit!

he went because he couldn't hack it grade wise at Arkansas. If he wanted to go he would have got a degree then went on to become an officer.

indeed, his job as a sniper is to prevent other marines from being murdered by terrorists planting IEDs.
