I just wanna put it out there. Webb looked like he was having fun doing that dorky video, and that's important, i hope he's having a good time with these guys and able to come back this year and make a statement. Best of luck Alan.

No kidding. It's really too bad his career has been so up and down, though anyone would be more than pleased to run his PRs. I really hope he gets back to 2007 form or better (could you imgagine?). Considering Ritz went from 13:16(?) to 12:56, I could see Webb returning to 1:43/3:30/3:46 shape or running low 12:50s. I just really hope he's doing well (mentally and emotionally). Running can be emotionally draining when it's as up and down as his has been.
Good luck, Alan Webb.
Good comments. It is too bad letsrun posters are so jealous of their elite runners and constantly seek to tear them down. Others have compared letsrun posters to jealous little HS girly bitches.
I am rooting for the new leaner Webb. Anyone know what his next race is? xc? indoor?
I am rooting for Alan Webb. Always have. Always will.
Was the boom thing a shout out to Adbi the cactus?
ME TOO
Looks like Al Sal pulled all of his bicep work from him. He was looking skinny in that video.
I really hope Webb gets it together. You have to want it so bad to succeed in running that to see someone with the fire he has shown in the past struggling to get after a race...sort of heartbreaking. But Alberto had some of the same motivational/injury problems, so if anyone can help, it might be AS.
Alan embodies a great deal of what's best about American running. He's a down to earth and humble guy (by all anecdotal accounts) who takes his failures extremely harshly - and his victories with so much enthusiasm that it's hard not to be excited.
BOOM indeed! I can't wait to see him in 2010!
I really want him to crush it come "whenever he's ready."
too good to not
Alan will put out some more pr's under Sal and for the first time in his career some solid championship preformances. Since the Oregon Project (which Sal did not bring his athletes to the level they were capable of) Sal has brought his select few athletes (besides Adam G.) to bring their A game almost every time it counted. Pr's during the season and consistent championship performances by most. Alan was great to watch in '07 and I'm confident '10, '11 and '12 will be just as exciting.
Just think, the US is absolutely stacked right now in the 5k. We have so many guys who potentially can go sub 13:05 this summer. Not saying they all can, but it'll be fun to see who does.
Ritz
Teg
Lagat
Webb
Rupp
Jager
Solinsky
Possibly more???
Solinsky and Rupp really need to dip under 13. The conversation shouldn't even start with some of these guys until they've achieved that.
Jager needs a few more years
