OK so I've been a spin doctor for several companies before so I have some experience with this. Here is what I think Tiger Woods should have said to the police and released in a official statement either late on Friday or early on Saturday:
"Elle and I were awaken about 2:00 am on Friday morning by 'insert kid's name here' who had just had a bad dream. She was crying and very upset. After comforting her and getting her back in her bed she kept saying she wanted her Pokie Bear, which is her stuffed bear she normally sleeps with. After looking around for it for several minutes, Elle remembered that we must have accidently left it down on the boat on Thursday afternoon when we took a family boat ride to celebrate Thanksgiving. The boat dock is just a half mile away on the other side of the neighborhood, so I decided to do what any good Dad would do and go down and retreive Pokie Bear from the boat, so 'insert kids name here' could get a good nights sleep. It was late and dark and I was a little sleepy and unfortunately while pulling out from the driveway my foot slipped off the break and hit the gas, and before I could correct it the car launched forward and hit a fire hydrant and tree. I hit my mouth on the steering wheel pretty good and was knocked senseless for a minute. Elle heard the crash and ran out and paniced when she saw blood and when she couldn't open the door, the car automatically locks the doors when I put it in drive, she broke the window and opened my door to help me from the car and render first aid.
Elle and I want to thank the local authorities and first responders for getting there quickly and helping me to the hospital to get checked out and recieve stitched. I also want to thank my fans for their well wishes and prayers. Hopefully I will feel better in the next few days and can still compete in the tournament next weekend, but we'll have to take it day my day and talk with my doctors on Monday before making that decision. - Tiger Woods"
