AR 5k?????
The hilarious part is that you think we're all sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for you next pearl of wisdom. Delusional, much?
ar ? that all ? how low have we become.
Well, maybe because some people are still a little uncomfortable with Meb not being born here in the USA, I guess. I am OK with it.
And Rowbury, she is a writer for the Huffington Post, which I think is terrible.
Al Sal is La Raza he deserves it.

+ Kara 3rd at Boston + Rupp had a pretty good year.
The IAAF WORLD coach of the year? Clyde Hart
3 gold medals and 1 silver. Coaches IAAF Athlete Of the Year Sanya Richards.
But Clyde's not even close to coach of the year in the US, but somebody who won NOTHING is?
US sprinters and hurdlers won 12 medals in Berlin, including 5 gold, not counting relays. The 3 "distance" medals won were won by middle distance people: Long distance runners won NOTHING as usual. If you're going to make believe that US distance runners even matter internationally, there's only one distance runner of any kind good enough to win any WC/Olympic event, and you know who he is and who his coach is.
How much did Nike pay off USATF THIS TIME?
After sixth in the WC 10000, 12:56, and third in the WC Half, you don't think Ritz is good enough to win a WC/Olympic event?

clyde hart brought home the medals from berlin.
john smith brought home the medals from berlin.
bobby kersee brought home the medals from berlin.
that mexican alberto salazar didn't win shit, but of course he works and lives for nike so usatf gives it to him.

There are so many other coaches who brough home the medals from Berlin WC. USATF sucks for disregarding their own coaches like that.

Mexican? You're dumb as f***. He was born in Cuba, raised in the USA.
Actually Mexicans and Cubans are both mestizos so it's not a personal offense for us to be mistaken for one of our own people.
Didn't take long for the Nike haters to come out. Mahon is a great coach, but I certainly wouldn't give him the award after a couple sub-par performances from Hall and a bombed race for Kastor in 2009. Salazar has produced more sub 13s than every American coach combined...
we like alsal too but 2009 berlin was a great meet and the u.s. coaches who delivered gold, silver, and bronze deserve the recognition from USATF.
The resurgence of American distance running still has a long way to go, but Salazar deserves as much credit for pushing the envelope as anyone. Goucher (women's intnl), Rupp (men's ncaa and ntnl), and Ritz (men's intnl; credit shared) had extremely strong performances for their respective levels. Salazar is also largley responsible for convincing Nike and Schumacher to set up a second PDX group, which produced the other sub 13:00 (Teg's).
I'd agree with the sentiment that there are other coaches equally deserving. Among others, Vigil/Larson/Mahon have done remarkably well with MTC. But i bet No One with any rank in the sport begrudges Salazar's recognition.
Poster's lame griping suggests he needs to a) get a life; b) spend more time training, less time bitching; and c) refill his Rx for little blu pills.
i'm a throws coach so i dunno all the politikz. alsal didn't coach one athlete in 2009 to a medal at wc or oly, or mara maj. i think that that should be the criteria, esp in a wc or oly year.

um....did you not watch the wc half-marathon? What did Ritz do? Oh yea, thats right he medaled.
sorry, that 1/2 mara doesn't count. neith do indoor wc. only the majors, outdoor wc, olys.
