When did it become cool for women to drop at the finish line like someone just clubbed them in the face... maybe they are just trying that much harder than the men?

hey, um.. how about some results, people? this board is so sexist.. moment by moment updates on the men and pretty much nothing on the women except that Jenny B collapsed and got up, and finished way back, and that Kuijken also did not win, and that maybe Bizzarri won? and you complain about the TV coverage.. some of us don't even get to see that.
maybe that's all they showed on TV

The finish line looked like d-day. What a bunch of drama queens. This is why we shouldn't have women's sports.
I know. It's an easy 6 frikin K course for godssakes.
1. Bizzari (Illinois)
2. Schaaf (WU)
3. Kijugen (FSU)
4. some girl from Virgina
5. McGlaughlin (Colorado)
And Barringer did not feel good... swine flu?
#709 on 'Nova = hot.
Like I said in an earlier thread there are no guarantees. Even though Barringer was the favorite it's not won till it's won. Still love Jenny B though.
That was a pretty big rock on JB's finger. Is she married/engaged?
God that coverage was awful. I can't imagine more incopetent broadcasting than those two clowns. "Looks like Susan Kuijken from Florida is in control here in the last 800m." "Actually, i'm not sure control would be the best word here Bob." But she has more speed than the women in front so maybe she can win if she stays close.
And seriously, WHAT HAPPENED TO JB!?! Did they just go out that fast or did she give up. It seemed to me ( and I have seen many runners give up before ) that she knew it wasn't her day and made it a bit overdramatic.
They did go out in 3:02 or something so maybe they overdid it a bit. Either way, kudos to Angela Bizzari, Kendra and especially Allie McLaughlin. Wow, I didn't expect her to be this good but she has steadily improved this season. Hasay clearly wasn't quite ready for this race but she'll be back..

That happens most years at prenats, too
Props to Oregon and Vin after so many had written them off. 2nd place and well ahead of Stanford.Next Year in the Pac-10 should be great!

Results from the course, mens:
1. OSU
2. Oregon
3. Alabama
4. NAU
5. W&M
i agree with you----you looked too strong at end to be done physically----she is a great runner, but she had a mental lapse in this race for whatever reason-----and unfortunately compounded it with what looks like manufactured drama-------
individual full results anywhere yet, men and women?

We need to make a compilation of all the ridiculous crap that was said today. Maybe send it in a letter to Versus. Or front page on Letsrun
God I love Jenny B.
Graceful and honest in defeat. Just as a running fan I was cheering for her 100% and it's terribly disappointing to see something like this happen.
This is just the beginning though, and I can't wait to see her on the professional circuit in the years to come.
I love Jenny B, but she pulled a Suzy Favor out there.
I'm sorry...you're obviously the expert and I guess I am the "dumbass" for sharing my obvious observation. Grow up you immature little c*** of a man.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
