No disrespect to the accomplishment but she is not the first female to run across America. There are at least 11 instances of females completing a trans-American run, many of whom averaged far more than 28 miles per day. The full list of credible trans-american runs is here:

That is what is listed in the summary at the bottom of the list, but the list itself shows 11 different names so it is a bit unclear. The 11 names:
