What are some small things that you do to maximize your training? For me it is trying to ice after every run. Maybe it's wearing a breathe right strip. I don't care what it is but lets share it.

Sleeping. I've learned first hand that this is the single most important thing for aiding your training. I had severe insomnia for the first two years of college and was running significantly slower than I had in high school. As soon as I started getting decent sleep (6+ for me) my 8k fitness improved by almost 2 minutes.
smokin' alot of reefer.
+1 for sleep. sleep, sleep, sleep, and then sleep some more.
Agreed. Sleep!
Eating right is a big factor. Not so much eating the right food, but eating at the right time. Or simply doing more of it. You really ought to be eating 4-6 meals a day--smaller, of course. Shoveling down a huge dinner after a light breakfast and lunch just doesn't cut it for recovery. Ideally, you want to get some food in you immediately after any run or workout (including strength stuff), plus your normal meals, plus a little something (with carbs and protein) right before bed. It'll do wonders for your training.
Also, I heartily endorse the above posts on sleep. 9-10 hours of sleep is a huge competitive advantage if you can make room for it.
lifting. I think runningart2004 can back me up on this.
I like to avoid pooping...
1) Do active stretches to avoid being so stiff in the morning and to start digesting dinner.
2) Do abs before sleeping, possible digestion benefits?
3) Practice wiping with random objects in case poop comes for a mid-run sneak attack.
4) Learn how to poop while running to psyche out the composition and leave a deadly trail to stop others from surging up to you (think mario kart).
5) If you are who I think you are you know that I am not good at avoiding poop problems so you can actually disregard this whole post.
6) Pressure hunt deer, their fur makes for great toilet paper in the field.
Oh and one friend of mine improves his lactate threshold by making out with his girlfriend while running. It is a bold strategy and probably won't pay off.
Oh and happy running is productive running... it's science...
Two naps a day
Also...better diet, sleep more, massage, A.R.T, chiropractic adjustments.
